I had beena couple of years working the high country when I left and was in my joinery/furniture making apprenticeship for about 6 months when we changed all measurements over to metric in the late 60's. Mother asked how it would effect me so I told her I had to buy all new tools - saws were all sharpened at points per inch and had to be changed for points per centimeter, 6 inch square for a 150mm one etc etc and my father was trying to keep a straight face as I went through the list of tool I needed to change untill it got so obvious that she caught on. Was a fun 1/2 hr thoughThey rank right up there with my metric pliers.
