Klein's ad from the 1950's...in Chicago.

Those were good prices until you factor-in 1950s wages. Still, if we knew then what we know now, and had a fist-full of dollars... :D

Probably not gonna be an add in the woke world we live in!

If they would have only made it in .41Mag.

I love the 41 mag. Unfortunately the S&W 4 inch I had I reluctantly sold to my former team sergeant because he was in need of a firearm for narcotics undercover work.

But, yeah a 41 mag in that carbine would be the ultimate weapon for deer, bear, and hogs in the (North) Carolina woods/ sand hills.

Just maybe we could get enough signatures on a petition to show enough interest that Ruger would make a limited reproduction run of that little 44 mag carbine.

Interesting question.

If you could have 50 of any one item in the Kleins add wrapped up in storage, what would it be?

Garand? Insulated wolf parka? Rubber boat?

I was thinking this same thing, some of those prices are actually pretty high for the 1950s! I looked it up, and $1 in 1950 would be roughly $12.60 in terms of spending power today (depending on info source).

So here are some of those prices converted to 2024 money:
M1 Garand: $1,354.5
30/06 Springfield: $560.7

50 Garands.

$120 for a brand new Spanish 10 gauge side by side shotgun.
$28 for a brand new .30-06 Springfield Enfield Model 1917,

It’s a real shame that I was still in diapers in the early 1950s. Otherwise, all this could have been mine.

I'll take an M1903 for $560. Heck, I'll take two!

I had one of those Ruger 44 mag carbines and liked it. It's one of those that I wish I had kept. Ruger should go back into reproducing that little/handy carbine! I would rather have that 44 than their 10/22.

Here is mine, enjoyed shooting it this past weekend.

I remember not that long ago, late 80s early 90s, you could still get SMLE, M94, and Mosins for maybe $50-75

I would have to break that 50 count up for a proper inventory.

6 Garands standard
4 Garands sniper configuration
2 US 1917
2 Double barrel 10 gauges
2 Double barrel 12 gauges
2 Pump 12 ga shotguns
2 Marlin Model 455
3 Ruger 22 mag revolvers
3 Colt 22 mag revolvers
2 Colt 22 mag Buntline revolvers
2 S&W 22 mag revolvers
1 Colt 45 acp revolver
3 Colt 1911 45 auto
2 Frontier 38 spl cal derringer
3 Colt 30-06 cal
2 Marlin 222 cal
6 sets fleece long johns
3 wolf parkas

Yeah...that should do it.

Now you just need a specific DeLorean to get it done. I'll pay the freight if you grab a few things for me. ;)

No problem. Make out your list. But if you program that DeLorean to about 5 miles from Klein's we could save the freight charges and buy a "couple" of more items.

In about 2005-2006, I bought two Model 91 Mosin Nagants and one M44 Mosin carbine for $80 each at Big 5 sporting goods. I also bought one British Enfield for $180 and a Garand for $800 from Big 5. All used though. Don't have any of them now.

I realize how hard the bug has bit. I’m on the cusp of safari #2 and I’m looking to plan #3 with my 11 year old a year from now while looking at my work schedule for overtime and computing the math of how many shifts are needed….

I'd like to get some too.

My wife (a biologist, like me) had to have a melanoma removed from her arm last fall.

Hallo Marius- do you have possibilities for stags in September during the roar? Where are your hunting areas in Romania?

I'm about ready to pull the trigger on another rifle but would love to see your rifle first, any way you could forward a pic or two?
