I think the folks at Lipsey’s have been lurking. Another great midbore Ruger African.

@112Savage
It's just a pity we ant convince Savage to do a 110 in 35Whelen or a short action in 358.
Me thinks they would be on a winner.
Bob
Na, I know you want to convert the masses to .25 and .35's but I don't see to many .358win around in Australia.

Young Mr Nelson chose the .308 without any influence. He knows it just makes sense in Australia.

@CHB Australia
The reason you don't see many 358s mate is those that have them keep them..
At least my son didn't pick a 243 because he reckons they are useless as well.
Bob

Ha ha I’m thinking some where in between like the 7mm08 is a better cartridge then either the 243 or 308. It has more energy than the 243 and better SD and BC with the same weight bullet than the 308.
Something to think about……

@Bob Nelson 35Whelen savage in the past had a program where you could take any compatible parts from previous rifles and have them “custom” assembled. This also included some international configurations. I could be wrong but the lady’s name at Savage was Effie Sullivan. You could give them a call and see if they would assemble exactly what you want.

In .243?

Already have exactly what I want.
A nice Stevens 200/Savage 110 in 35 Whelen.

He can always bore that 308 out to a 358 after he shoots the rifling out.

Yes. And in .25-20 with a 26” octagonal barrel and flip up rear sight for long range shooting.
Oh, now I have visions of Bob doing a remake of "Quigley Down Under"
He can use that .25-20 for Dingoes and have a matching one in .35Whelen for Camels.

Is the Ruger Hawkeye just too costly? I think the OP thought it would provoke support for the Ruger.
