Obscure hunts

This is likely going to be my first international hunt. I am going to try for the world turkey slam.

Those Ocellated turkey sure are cool, pity you can't hunt the Aussie one to for that Slam

Eurasian Capercaillie added to the bird hunt .

Kashmir Markhor would be very cool animal to hunt also !

Muskox.
You don't hear a lot of people who have hunted them.
From what I understand, shot placement is extremely difficult.
Hard to judge the body with all that hair covering it.

Rumours has it it’s also extremely difficult to get the musk out for a mount. A friend of my fathers had a lodge in the Yukon until he passed dad said he had a full body mount that still stunk five or six years after it was done.

Simplify it with a European mount. ;)

I think that your question basically refers to countries where hunting is allowed by law, but generally there is no outfitters or local organizations that advertise the hunts (by internet or international agencies).
So, this will be a tough search.

Gizmo,
A lot of hunters have completed their "xyz" "animals of the world" on ranches such as yours. I am aware of a ranch at Hondo that hosted an extensive African hunt for a person which even included Giraffe. From the pix, you could not tell it was not Africa. I saw a pic of the Giraffe standing in the trailer used to move it to the ranch! The operators had fun planning the route - had to assure head clearance.
I also had a deer lease next to a central Texas ranch that had a small herd of Bongo. He kept them in a pasture near his horse corrals at the center of the ranch. It was in a wooded area south of Comanche and was all high fenced. You may remember back when the Ostrich craze passed and the darn things were released and often seen running the bar ditches.

Will go hunt king eiders and other sea ducks after my next africa trip. Always wanted to check that adventure off the bucket list
If your looking for adventure go for it. You won't be disappointed!

Fact check - not true. Mine never had any odor at all.

If you have the travelling spirit and an adventurous soul there are some incredible places and amazing animals to hunt.

Some that appeal to me include, but are not limited to;

Maral stag in Kazakstan.
Moose in Chukotka.
Bezoar Ibex in Turkey.
Red stag in Europe.
Mountain Caribou in Alaska.
Tahr in Nepal.
Markhor in Afganistan.
Giant Forest hog in CAR.

Just to mention a few.
Sounds like some fun hunts. If I get rich one day I wanna go to CAR for lord derby or bongo and the giant forest hog is on that list too.

I think this is a great choice for a hunt. Have you considered trying for Greater Currasow and Crested Guan? There used to be hunts offered for these 3 birds. I haven't looked into this for some time.
Yep, they are on my list too. When I save up some money my list for mexico will be the occelated turkey, currasow, guan, and caoti. Hopefully I can make that happen within the next couple years.

Don’t know if this counts but we can offer things such as Bongo, Mahrkor, kangaroo, and a whole slew over others here in Texas.
Yep I have considered texas as my cousin owns an exotic game ranch down there. I would love to travel to some exotic places and hunt animals in their natural habitat. That being said I have considered hunting animals like addax and arabian oryx and other animals like that where you either cant hunt in their native range or its really hard to.

Not a hunt but an amazing rush for anyone lucky enough to try is harpooning swordfish. Standing in the pulpit trying to time your throw while the spray beats in your face. You’ve got to time both the movements of the fish and the movements of the boat amazing feeling when everything works out right.

Sounds like a titanic moment.... :A Thumbs Up:

Just wanted to say thanks for the excellent customer service. Ordered some 9.3x62 brass and the delivery was a little short. An email through your website Contact Us link was replied to the next day with the tracking info for the correction. Good pricing coupled with great customer service will see returning customers every time. Thanks again!

I am righthanded, so not interested in the rifle, but I have a 375 RUM and 350 gr bullet loading data is very hard to come by. If you could reply with information regarding your loads I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you, Ray Boone, Leavenworth, WA
