Nosler has 470 500gr bullets on sale right now. 500-416 loaded ammo was massively discounted also.

Those bullets are on closeout. No more to be made. There are a couple lines of large bore loaded ammo discounted, 450 Rigby was one I noticed

I've got a few hundred of that bullet. I'm often watching for their sales.

Solids everywhere and nothing to shoot them in! Looking for a double.

A lot of vintage double rifle owners won't shoot these or the Barnes mono solids for fear of barrel damage.

Also, they require extensive cleaning afterwards.

Any idea which other calibers they won‘t make anymore .

What I have found is when they put something in their "Closeout" section, it is leaving their production line. They retired the 9.3x62 solid ammo line in 2020, ran out of stock in early 2021. They still offer the 9.3x62 loaded with the Partition, just not solids. Makes me think they are slowing phasing out their solid line of loaded ammo, or pruning it back to only the most popular calibers. Same would go for the component bullets; the 9.3 solid bullet isn't listed anymore.
When Nosler puts something on sale, they really discount. The 9.3x62 solid ammo was cheaper than I could buy the bullet and brass at the time. For those that use, or intend to get, a rifle in the current sale calibers, can't beat the price right now. I routinely keep an eye on their website, as I like Nosler components.

Is this due to the long shank with no bands? And the potential for bulging? Or is it the alloy Nosler uses? I haven't shot very many of the 9.3s, and have been looking at simply pulling the solid and sticking a Partition in the case.
While it would be time consuming, I wonder how hard it would be to chuck them in a lathe and turn a series of bands like Barnes and others have? For the sale price, it seems it might be worth the time.

Rookhawk could elaborate on the cleaning issues. I got my Nosler solids from him and he moved on to other bullet options with his 470. I wouldn't have a problem shooting them in the newer guns. I don't see a lot of need to practice with the solids. You can practice with softs.

Still some kicking around.
Had thought about getting a few boxes myself in case I end up with a 9.3x62, but chances are it's going to be a long time before that happens.

So the nosler solids in big calibres are not lead core type?....just wondering as one shop here got couple boxes off 500 Jeffery solids in....was thinking of getting a box or 2 to see how they compare to norma ones velocity wise....

mono metal construction...beefy

Mike, if you are looking for something different, you might want to try the Peregrine VRG2, their drive band design largely eliminates fouling mono metals usually cause, plus its copper, although they do offer a brass version as well. I love the plainsmaster bullets in eveything .375 and smaller that I have used them in. I want to get some of the new levergun bullets they developed for my Marlin 1895 SBL 45-70 but shipping costs from S.A. to USA are currently prohibitive.

trperk1, I bought the Kimber Caprivi 375 back in an earlier post. You attached a target with an impressive three rounds touching 100 yards. I took the 2x10 VX5 off and put a VX6 HD Gen 2 1x6x24 Duplex Firedot on the rifle. It's definitely a shooter curious what loads you used for the group. Loving this rifle so fun to shoot. Africa 2026 Mozambique. Buff and PG. Any info appreciated.

Hello:
I’ll take the .375 Whitworth for $1,150 if the deal falls through.
Thanks .
