Great hunt, not sure if you’re into this but in the both pictures you look like y’all have a good mix of greaters and lessers. Compare bill sizes on adult birds, there’s some other measurements but bill length is the easiest.

I tend to see a lot more greaters earlier in the season too. When it comes to January, it is usually all lessers

I have hunted cranes with waterfowl and migratory bird biologists, it’s very educational especially when you get into the different races of Canada geese and cackling geese.
At times it can take a little time out of the hunt but fun.

1000 plus cranes just came over our house in Fort Worth. It's on boys...

Saw them also. I had a bunch fly over the property in Throckmorton this past weekend. I ordered a dozen decoys.
