Does anyone have any experience with these Bond Strike bullets and how they perform on game animals? Are these a tough bonded bullet that retails weight or more of a rapid expansion bullet that might break apart or shed weight quickly?

And especially how these loads compare to the A Frame 308 rounds sold in that earlier sale. I couldn't find the speed they are clocking to compare either.

I tested a box of the .30-06 180 grain BondStrike when they first came out. Nominal MV is 2,756 fps, but thru my 24" Lilja barrel I recorded 2,630 fps for 10 rounds. To date my barrel has only been fed 180 grain cup-n-core and bonded bullets across its 20+ year life and those bullet types perform best from that barrel between 2,710 - 2,745 fps MV. The factory ammo grouped good enough for big game out to perhaps ~200 yards. When Norma loosens their grip on the 180 grain BondStrike and make them available for handloading I'll be buying a pile of them for loading to my barrel' sweetspot.

Until Norma does that, I've been handloading the 143 grain BondStrike out of my 6.5 CM 22" factory barrel to a 2,751 fps MV using 6.5 StaBALL powder. An 88% load density produces the most consistent accuracy with that powder for me, and I've used that load on 3 cow elk now, deliberately aiming for big bone to compare results with its older sibling, the Oryx.

Now, 3 examples are not a trend, but my initial impressions are the BondStrike is just a touch tougher bullet than the Oryx. Not by much though, perhaps indistinguishable. More dinners need to be knocked down before a clearer picture emerges.

Yes, a slight difference. The 357 Mag bullets have a slightly narrower hollow point than the 38 special: 38 SPL Av. ~0.124” ; 357 MAG Av ~0.094”

Folks have reported shooting the 38 Special bullets at 357 speeds without issue. As long as your target shooting with them, it probably makes more sense to just get the cheaper of the too. Accuracy has been reported to be excellent. I don't know if there is any difference in jacket thickness in the 357 Mag labeled bullets. The did cost us more to acquire, but that's about all the info we have at this time.

Thank you for explaining it. I just loaded 200 of the 38 bullets in my 357 mag. They do shoot well. I am mostly shooting targets so I don’t foresee any issues. I have dedicated hunting bullets

Nice looking rifle at a very fair price. The listed 8.9lb. weight is a bit more than I would want though. I'm typically hunting in the mountains so lighter is always better. But I love the stainless/walnut so I might have to make an exception. Thanks for the heads up on this rifle!

I loaded 143gr Bondstrike for my 6.5 SAUM specifically for a South Africa hunt last year. I took a Kudu with a chest shot (went 20 yards and was down), Impala, Gemsbok, Warthog @ 456 yards (dropped where he stood), Steenbuck, Blesbuck, and a Blue Wildebeest. The only one we had to track was my Gemsbok, only because I pulled the shot slightly back and it went about 80 yards. The PH was very impressed with the bullet. My buddy shot the same animals I did plus a Nyala using a 300 win mag with factory load Bondstrikes. He had same results I did. The bullet flat out works... There is a group of us returning next year and guess what, most of the guys are going to shoot Bondstrikes. I will say, on Texas whitetail they pass thru in a hurry from my 6.5 SAUM, but leave a massive wound channel.
