Giday flyfishdoc and welcome to the A H forums

:S Welcome: to AH!
I can personally recommend @KMG Hunting Safaris!! Marius is great!

Welcome to AH … allot of quality Operators hosted here & I’m confident You/Wife (always best - joint agreement) will have great success in locating that special place!

A basic pre-planning strategy:
1st: What Country? (S. Africa & for many reasons is hard to match for 1st Timers/Family.)
2nd: What style of Lodge/Amenities best fits your group interests?
3rd: Set your Budget. If your Wife is a Huntress - look for 2x1 rates.
4th: Have a basic Trophy List start-point & it usually changes (grows).
5th: Fun begins! Click on abunch Operator links …
* Compare Daily Rates: +/- $100 aday fluctuation between Operators & usually based off Amenities.
* Compare Trophy Fees: allot of great values NOW to be locked in for 2022.
* Compile a Short-List & “ping” AH members for personally experiences & research AH Hunting Reports.

I concur w/ Just Gina & based on personal experience: Marius/KMG was enjoyable to email, informative, accommodating to my 4/group Hunt Interests & we do have a Huntress in the Group: we’ll be in camp 28 Aug & a Hunt Report to follow.

Enjoy the journey!

flyfishdoc, welcome to the AH forum! Lots of great info on here that will get you on your Africa adventure.
I like ”flyfishdoc”! I have flyfished a bit from my kayak in several of the Gulf bays from Tampa to Chokoloski. Great fun!

Welcome to the AH.com site from a fellow South Floridian. Here is a couples deal you might be interested in from an outfitter that I highly recommend. I hunted with the folks at Limcroma Safaris a few years back and they put together a family safari package for us similar to this deal. It was a fantastic experience all-around and one of the best outfitted hunts I have ever been on. I cannot recommend these folks highly enough. Feel free to message me if you have any questions about my hunt with them.

Thank you Mr. Dave for the recommendation and kind endorsement.

@flyfishdoc ,

Welcome to the AH.com site! At Limcroma Safaris, we pride ourselves as a Couples & Family Safari specialist. The package that Mr. Dave referenced is our most popular couples offer, but if that package does not suit you, we are happy to create a custom safari specific your personal goals and desires. Please do not hesitate to contact us if we can be of any assistance in your safari planning.

As you can see from the replies, there are many friendly, folks and some fantastic outfitters available on this site who are eager to assist. Please refer to our Outfitter's link below to learn more about the African experience we can provide. Enjoy the research and planning. It's half the fun!

Welcome to AH !

Hello flyfishdoc,

Khomas Highland Hunting Safaris of Namibia, welcomes you to the greatest forum on earth.

You have come to the right place.
As you are seeing, there are many great safari companies here to choose from.

Whether or not you choose to book with us at Khomas, I will be happy to answer questions you may have about rifles, calibers, binoculars, bush walking shoes, and general related kit, etc.

Best Regards,
Velo Dog.

Welcome to AH! Let us know if you have any questions...

Welcome aboard flyfishdoc. As you have seen, there are a number of outfitters on AH that can accommodate you. The nice thing about using one of those being recommended is that they are "vetted" on an almost daily basis. These guys have to "walk the walk" or suffer a bad review, and they can't afford that. Don't worry too much about resent experiences, last year was lost to Covid-19, and hunting this year has been iffy at times. Don't hesitate to contact the references the outfitters give you.

I hunted with Game 4 Africa back in 2018, my wife went along reluctantly but after just a couple of days she was asking when we were coming back. They were great and the animals were great also. Probably can’t go wrong with any outfit on this site though.

Ty. Made reservations today for Dallas in January. Gotta start somewhere I guess!

We all hope and pray that the DSC along with the entire compliment of sportsman's shows are going to happen in 2022. If the DSC is a go, we invite you to come by our booth and say hello. It would be our sincere pleasure to talk a little African hunting with you!

If not, we have representatives in several US States including Florida that would be glad to arrange a personal meet. Please feel free to contact us anytime with questions or assistance in your safari planning.

Hello all, new to the site but have been hunting USA for 50 years. Have the Safari bug-plan on trip may-duly 2022. Wish to hunt Plains game and take wife who is not afraid to get her hands dirty.
Have use the search button looking for ideas however does anyone have recent recommendations for an outfitter supplying couples hunt?
Thanks!
Fellow Floridian here from Tampa. Just got back earlier this month from a great trip to South Africa with the wife and kids. Happy to share some insights and considerations when traveling with the Missus. Hunted with Ken Moody Safaris and would highly recommend them particularly if hunting Cape Buffalo is something you might want to do.

Currently doing a load development on a .404 Jeffrey... it's always surprising to load .423 caliber bullets into a .404 caliber rifle. But we love it when we get 400 Gr North Fork SS bullets to 2300 FPS, those should hammer down on buffalo. Next up are the Cutting Edge solids and then Raptors... load 200 rounds of ammo for the customer and on to the next gun!
To much to political shit, to little Africa :-)
Spending a few years hunting out west then back to Africa!

I doubt you are interested in any trades but I was getting ready to list a Sauer 404 3 barrel set in the 10-12 price range if your interested. It has the 404J, 30-06 and 6.5 Creedmoor barrel. Only the 30-06 had been shot and it has 7 rounds through it as I was working on breaking the barrel in. It also has both the synthetic thumbhole stock and somewhere between grade 3-5 non thumbhole stock
