The adventure takes place in the central South Island of New Zealand. Hunts are all conducted on private hunting areas exclusive to New Zealand Safaris, Jim Gibson owner/ outfitter is still guiding cleints after 17 years in the professional guiding industry. Hunters have the choice of Estate or low fence/no fence hunts for deer species including Stag, Fallow, Elk, Sika, Sambar, Rusa. Tahr and Chamois hunting is traditional spot and stalk low fence/no fence in the mountains without the use of helicopter. Chamois hunts are limited to 4 per year as part of the game management we have to ensure these animals reach full maturity, limited disruption to breeding which also helps with exceptional opportunity for international hunters. Based out of All season Hunting lodge for the majority of our hunts in the South Island the properties are within 1 hrs drive. Additional hunting includes ducks, wallaby, turkey and small game we also cater to non hunters and families and small groups have the opportunity to exclusive hunting rights on the properties and lodge during their stay. Scenery in the central South Island is world famous including the Mt Cook national park, glacial lakes and mountains, and ocean again all under 1 hrs drive so perfectly located.
