New Zealand and Australia Opening Up Again?

Where did you "Acquire" the Woodleigh projectiles? What are your sources? These are like Rocking Horse poop and Hens teeth, even in Australia. Who are you?
Half a chance your telling the truth, the Bob I know probably bullshits around the campfire, Mmm, could be him.
Keen as mustard if I can swing it, and I will try.
Disclaimer, I do have some Woodleigh Hydro's in .375 and I'm not parting with them. I only have just enough to develop a load and do some hunting.
@CBH Australia
Chris no secret. When I found out they burnt down I rang every gunshop I knew and tracked some down. It took a few calls tho.

I live in Newzealand, and what this current government has done to this country is beyond belief. A group of us have been planning a trip to Mozambique, it has been canned twice and there was some hope of it happening this year in August, but who knows. We have huge antimandate protests at parliament at the moment but Adern a d her crew are just ignoring it and continuing to force there mandates and policy onto the people. Dictators through and through.

I looked online for Woodleigh projectiles but I should have called some smaller shops to ask. I would like a few more .375 Hydro's in the cupboard for later.

As for New Zealand it's another place I want to try hunt, soonish.

Freed up a bit now and able to travel but travel restrictions are what's stopping us now.

@CBH Australia and @ Bob Nelson 35Whelen, did either of you every hunt with Barry Lees up north? I hunted with him back in the 80's and 90's. The 90's he in stayed with my family in Texas for extended period and then opened a restaurant here serving Australian tucker.

No, I have not hunted up North yet. Been shooting and hunting from a young age but I was 48 before we went to Africa. Really it was pretty good value.

@Philip Glass
I agree as it is hard to get to Namibia again I have booked a scrub bull hunt in North Queensland for next year as he is already booked for this year. We will see how the Whelen goes loaded with 275gn Woodleigh PPSPs. Will be fun. The son is going to use his 308, a mate will use his 444 Marlin and if @CBH Australia can join us as he wants he will probably take his 375H&H. I can see a lot of good hunting, sitting around the camp fire, a few drinks and a lot of bullshit and good natured banter.
Bob
Bob that is always a good thing no matter where you are. Happy hunting and hope you get to my second home of Namibia again real soon!

Scott Mitchell Safaris.

Renewing this travel thread. Any updates on travel rules to Australia and NZ? Probably changing the rules weekly, if not more?

Yes & faster than that for NZ, the protesters help push things ahead I think .

It changed daily & at this stage (fully Vaccinated) NZ citizens & residents can return from any country overseas with out quarantine & leave to travel to certain number of country's .

There are some other small groups allowed into the country in different month increments, but at this stage the border is still restricted till October for open travel to the World !

So I should be able to go to work this year !

Working thru it now. One thing for sure is the US State Department website is about a month out of date. Not good info there.

Our ‘Dear Leader’ Ardern was always going to be a disaster. Full of pommy communist dogma from the first time she appeared as a Labour MP. She clearly has no morals.

She suppressed the names of the criminals (so-called NZ Police Officers and NZ Police civilian employees who broke the law by issuing a firearms licence to the mosque murderer without following the law; and later issuing multiple permits for mail order ammo to someone who lived in Christchurch) and they have not been charged and prosecuted. That was a warning sign! The mass murderer was clearly trying to avoid further contact with local gun shop staff. They knew that David Gray (of Aramoana infamy) was ‘going off the deep end’ because a highly respected member of the community i.e., a local gun shop owner told them so!

So potentially it will be open for travel after October?

Had an excellent classifieds transaction with JoninCO. A truly honest and standup member. I wouldn't hesitate at all to deal with him again. Thanks, J!

Hi Lance, Hope you well. I collect Mauser rifles and they are very much part of my cultural history in Africa. Would you consider selling the rifle now a year on ? I'd like to place it in my collection of Mauser rifles. Many thx

I saw where you hunted elephant with backcountry safaris in Zimbabwe.
Was looking to book an elephant hunt and wanted to know how your hunt went
and if you would recommend them.

Thanks
Mike
hi, do you know about lions hunters, leopard hunters, and crocodiles hunters of years 1930s-1950s
I'm new to Africa Hunting. I would like to purchase a Heym 450-400 double rifle. I'm left-handed but would prefer a non-canted gun. Is anyone in the community considering parting with theirs?
