Sometimes you just get lucky.
I have been looking for a 9.3x62 for a while and was about to buy one that was more of a project than I wanted. Thankfully it was sold when I called. Later that night this one showed up on GI and I pounced.
(Side note-Socal Guns in San Diego who listed the rifle was terrific to deal with)
Lots of custom work had been done, including a beautiful walnut stock, Timney trigger, checkered bolt knob--even an Els and Co sling.
I did some googling and found it in an old Guns International listing:
CUSTOM HUSQVARNA 9.3X62 BY KENT BOWERLY
Description:
This mint custom rifle by guild member Kent Bowerly for Chub Eastman Rifle Editor of Sports Afield magazine and came from his estate. This is a factory original Husqvarna barreled action in 9.3X62. The stock is beautifully done in deluxe English Walnut.
I couldn't be happier. It shoots great, action is smooth as butter and feeds beautifully. It'll be heading to the gunsmith in the next few weeks for a model 70 type 3 position safety and to be drilled and tapped. In the meantime, RCBS dies should arrive this week and I can start figuring out loads.
The perfect plains game rifle/back up to the 404 Jeff on my next trip. Before that it'll get some time at the range and in the Vermont next fall for bear.
