New to me 470 Capstick

Then you should do what makes you smile.
Everyone should do what they feel is right, we all give a different perspective. It is up to the reader to decide what to do with it.

When I was young 3rd grade, I remember reading the shooters Bible and seeing guns that cost 3k+. I remember thinking no way in the world I would ever own something like that. I have been blessed in my life and worked my butt off, for that I have a few nice firearms. When I made a decision to buy my first AI, I sold several rifles to fund it. Best decision I made, I no longer had the little bs problems other rifles gave me. My confidence levels in the rifle were 100% that allowed me to be the best shooter I could be. Back then I was shoot 3k-5k of center fire a year with that many again in rimfire. It all depends on what you want. I also sold off different rifles and shotguns that I did not use to pay for classes and components. Again for me, why have it sit in the safe doing nothing? I know a lot of people with lots of guns, I know fewer people that truly push the limits of their guns.

I like my 470 capstick. Got 4 boxes of original Asquare ammo. Rcbs dies. Got some brass head stamped.
Originaly thought of getting 470NE. Gave up that idea. Bought some brass and dies before hand. Now I may be listing them.

I have sold a lot and no regrets, honestly I would rather have 1 gun of quality than 10 that are mediocre.
I found out the same thing. I sold 8 rifles to finally get the three Africa rifles I want, Westley Richards DR, John Rigby and custom Mauser

@Wishfulthinker580 - I've been a member of the NRA since the 1980's but always got the American Rifleman instead of American Hunter. Sometimes they would share articles and I'm wondering if this was one. At one point I was keeping the magazines, but I'm sure they've been tossed out long ago. Seeing that article just brought back some memories. Thanks for that.

How are you liking the 470CAP?

I’m an American Rifleman man as well.

The gentleman that I bought the Capstick from was actually going through some stuff, found it, thought of me and sent it to me. Very nice gesture.

It’s still at the smith’s………… Stock refinish, new recoil pad, redo the cerakote and check feeding and function. Hoping to have it back soon though! I’m excited to shoot it.

Looking forward to it!
Might even post a video for entertainment!! :ROFLMAO:

Biggest I’ve shot is the 375 H&H.

I’ll try out the factory A Square ammo- 500 grains at 2400 fps.

That being said I don’t expect it to be too horrific given the stock design, recoil pad size, lop and weight. Also with the scout scope I won’t be thinking about a potential Weatherby kiss.

Might check the speed, the early stuff was going 2150 if l remember right. That’s still plenty.

I’m planning on breaking out the chronograph and checking it out. The factory A Square ammo I have for it has 2400 fps on the box. I am curious nonetheless

trperk1, I bought the Kimber Caprivi 375 back in an earlier post. You attached a target with an impressive three rounds touching 100 yards. I took the 2x10 VX5 off and put a VX6 HD Gen 2 1x6x24 Duplex Firedot on the rifle. It's definitely a shooter curious what loads you used for the group. Loving this rifle so fun to shoot. Africa 2026 Mozambique. Buff and PG. Any info appreciated.
Ready for the hunt with HTK Safaris

Hello:
I’ll take the .375 Whitworth for $1,150 if the deal falls through.
Thanks .
