Hello all! New member from the bluegrass state (KY). I haven’t went to Africa yet, but it has been a dream of mine since I was a child. I watched the outdoor channel more than the cartoon channel as a kid and always had daydreams of my future trips. Now I’m in my 30’s and have been researching and planning for my first trip in the next year or two. I’ve been blessed with a great career and I’m ready to make my dreams a reality. Any suggestions for my research?

:S Welcome:

Hello and welcome!

Welcome aboard and glad you are planning to come hunt in Africa. Our company outfits hunts in Zambia on vast open range wilderness government concessions that buffer two of the well known Africa national parks. We’d be happy to send you some information if you would like to DM me should you be interested in learning more. Glad you are getting involved on this forum and going to plan a hunt. Being in the African bush gets in one’s soul. Such an incredible experience to come on safari. Good luck with your planning.

Best advice is to read, read more and then keep reading. Lots of write-ups on hunts and outfitters on here. Probably want to think first about what you'd like to hunt and then where. The selection of PH and outfit goes from there. Planning is at least half the fun and you never get to do your first safari again. There have to be some members in KY that would also be good for a chat. Post any questions that you have to get started and you'll find loads of helpful responses. Welcome aboard!

Welcome to AH! Your post makes me think about as a kid watching Curt Gowdy and American Sportsman. That makes me a bit of a geezer, but I think you can find episodes on YT of that show.

I am righthanded, so not interested in the rifle, but I have a 375 RUM and 350 gr bullet loading data is very hard to come by. If you could reply with information regarding your loads I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you, Ray Boone, Leavenworth, WA

Hello - I was looking at your post from several years ago regarding the Winchester 300 H&H. Any chance you still have the lefty M70 300 H&H for sale?
Thank you, Mike

An excellent AH member right here! I had a fantastic transaction with Hornedfrogbbq (I was the seller). His communication was first rate, payment was extremely fast, and I would have absolutely no reservations at all dealing with him again. Thank you, F!
Here we are, the last day of the show in Denver, it's been a good show but expecting a quiet day today. I will be back for-sure to do this show next year and maybe also do the one in Sacramento California.

On Monday I will be hitting the road driving from Denver and eventually make it down to Atlanta for the flight home.

its going to be a good year!
