New member here from TN

Welcome from another Tennessean (now residing in TX)...

I just spent the past week back “home” visiting family for the holidays..

What part of the state are you from?

Im from what some folks would refer to as BFE LOL. Jackson co., middle of nowhere and that's just the way I like it. Chances are, if you know where that is its because you came here deer hunting. This is the first county people from east TN came to to deer hunt back in the 70s and 80s.

Lol.. I know Jackson County well..
I was born / raised in Memphis.. but spent close to a decade in Knoxville, and routinely made the trek from Knox to Mem, passing just south of Jackson County..

That’s a pretty part of the state... rolling hills, deep forest, etc... very nice!

Welcome! Congrats on the .375. Now all you have to do is put it to use in Africa. CAUTION: The Dark Continent addictive!

Welcome aboard! Any pictures of your hunts?

Welcome and enjoy this great forum

If there was a simple way to send them from my phone straight to here Id be happy to post pics but I don't have an image hosting site set up and sending them to email, then saving them to pc, then uploading is a lot of work and a lot of steps Im not too familiar with.

Hello! As a 54 yr old lifelong hunter it just stands to reason that my thoughts would eventually turn to hunting other continents besides North America lol. What brought me to this site was doing research on a .375 H&H I just came into possession of. After a couple days of digging around Im thinking I just might have the "perfect" gun to take anywhere for anything! Its a whitworth express, one of the earlier ones by all indications. Up until yesterday my "big gun" was a .300 rem ultra mag and to be honest, except for the legal requirements for a larger caliber, Id be perfectly comfortable with it ANYWHERE and with the right bullet, kill ANYTHING. Another thing that brought me here is a recent friendship I just made with a man that has done the Africa thing several times, lives here, but works shows for an outfitter in Africa. I cant remember which outfitter or where exactly, but the seed has been planted to go!
Welcome Tn_Huntaholic! Hope to welcome you in Africa soon

Welcome @Tn_Huntaholic !

My husband, @WFet , and I are fellow Tennesseans in Franklin, although we are more like imports since I'm from Georgia and he's from Texas! So excited to hear that more people from Tennessee are involved on this forum. And as the others have said before me, the Africa bug is real and something that should not be taken for granted... Trust me, I finally caught it after resisting for 3-4 years...
