Welcome Chris. This forum has a wealth of information from some extremely knowledgeable folks, enjoy and have fun planning!
Never wait-- get a plains game booked in South Africa- cheaper than a moose hunt in the uS!! Once there you will be booking your second trip. A hint- do not go for a week-- make it at least 15-18 days and hunt two areas- and different species-- most of the expense etc is just getting there and back- and time flies there= so I would book two safaris( cheap one)- most offer either a Kudu or Gemsbok-- so with two hunts=shoot a lot of cheap animals-- I like taking a new person -let them shoot culls, females and at least one good trophy to mount-- a wildebeest cow looks just like a male and just as fun to hunt--! cost 1/4 th.Good morning. I joined the forum a couple of weeks ago and am just getting around to introducing myself, more of a lurker than joiner.
I hunted a lot when I lived in Texas but not so much since I moved to Colorado but I still get out now and again. I’ve always wanted to hunt Africa and have decided now that I’m knocking on the door of turning 60, it’s time. 2019 if I can make it happen, if not, then 2021.
I’m looking forward to picking the brain of a those who’ve already hunted Africa. Thanks to all who have already shared their experiences.
