New Luggage Restrictions ORT Johannesburg

Do the hard sided wall mart (no wall marts over here, but at least they speak English in our stores) brands accept TSA locks. I wonder how the military's of the world move with army duffel bags, better machinery or is it people, with a brain that actually care about the job that they are doing?

Getting a bag wrapped in plastic at Or Tamb takes 3minutes and cost a few bucks. Problem solved.

In Europe in airports where this is a problem use plastic trays to send soft bags, backpacks and such items through the system.

Just bought this and loaded it up. Holds everything I usually take for 10 days (well it and my 5.11 Rush carry-on daypack).

It’s actually a roll around carry-on hard case. My Pelican hardcase with 80 rounds of 375 H&H fits easily. 1 change of clothes (a second in the daypack), 3 pair socks (another along with a set of underwear in the daypack), 2 sets underwear, toilet kit, rain jacket/wind breaker, extra shoe laces, etc. Everything I always carried in my small duffel is in it. It’s built pretty heavy.
I noticed as I was locking my ammo box that TSA, when they inspected it returning home last trip, bent my approved lock hasps. I had to bend them back to get them to lock. Now I’m wondering if TSA just bent the hasps to get them. They left me a note that they had inspected it, but didn’t lock it back.

They use private’s in the rare cases where the owner of the bag is not moving their own bag. We had to load and unload our own bags into the cargo compartment of the charter flight taking us bag from the sandbox.

Military gear is also made to be extremely private proof. I hear stories about how you shouldn’t use military packs for backpacking, because the civilian ones are so much tougher. BS. The river propped on that Alice pack frame after 20 years of being thrown off a duece and a half into hard concrete loaded 100% beyond design rating.

I saw you were looking for some Swift A-Frames for your 9.3. I just bought a bulk supply of them in the 285g. version. If Toby's are gone, I could let 100 go for $200 shipped you are interested.
Thanks,
Gary

Booked with Harold Grinde - Gana River - they sure kill some good ones - who'd you get set up with?
