New Lipseys Hawkeye African in .270 Winchester?

Both @Cheesehead & @ThreeJacks mentioned that they would have liked to have seen it in 7x64 Brenneke. Just as an FYI, a Ruger MkII in that chambering popped up on GunsInternational today. It's not a rifle I see very often. As expected, the asking price reflects that.

As a southpaw shooter, Ruger has only seen fit to build the African models in 375 Ruger for me. But I already have two 375 H&H rifles (LH Winchester 70 & an 1885) so that chambering doesn't have a lot of appeal. I got a Ruger No. 1 RSI in 275 Rigby because I got tired of dreaming about a LH African in that caliber (not a bad compromise since I love that rifle).

It seems like Ruger has brought a lot rifles to market finally. A look on GB shows a slew of 375 Rugers and 416 Rugers available. There's lots of 375 Ruger ammo available, but not so much on the 416 Ruger.

That one is overpriced. One sat on GI for months and finally sold for $1250, then one popped up on Gunbroker overnight, it was in my email this morning, but sold for a Buynow of $999. I would have bought that one!

Pretty nice example of a Browning Safari Grade here at a decent price; but anyone who knows these guns knows that they're DOM is off by 10 years, and I'm betting that is almost certainly not the original hang tag. Thie Gun Library manager is a little over his skis on this one, but maybe that's an opportunity for the buyer:

I don’t want to hijack the thread, but I’m building an African Express rifle in .275 Rigby (7x57), and it seems like this group would have the best input. Two questions: Would you leave this wood the natural color with hand rubbed oil finish, stain with brown or stain with red? What type of sights would you recommend, banded front like Holland and Holland or the island type like the second attached picture? The example express rifle is an Old African Rifle that RJ Renner built for me. Thanks everyone!
