I'm looking forward to shooting both. The 500 is definitely heavier than the 450/400 - but not uncomfortable.

If the 416 shoots anything like the 375 - it will be a great rifle. Hopefully the 416 won't kick as hard as the 458 Lott.

If you don’t like the recoil of the .416, I will trade you for a pre-Martini Heym Express in .416 Rigby. The extra bulk helps with the recoil. I will even trade you straight up—-no money from your end. That is the kind of guy I am.

Seriously, I have a .404 and .416 pre-Martini and really like them, but as you know, the Ralf makeover was awesome for the line!

And it only took 2 years. Picked up my new Heym 89B 500 NE double today. I'll try to get some better pictures tomorrow.

Hi Franco,

Nice rifles! I fine that the 416 has a lot less recoil than the 458 Lott as I have both. The 458 is more like the 500 NE.
