New Guy going to hunt Africa for the first time

Let me know if there are any issues in Atlanta, because that is the way I would like to go, as long as firearms aren't an issue.

Best of luck. This Canuck is also going to Africa for the first time in May. I can hardly control my excitement. I'm hunting for plains game with Kowas Safari in Namibia and have a side trip to Etosha planned after the hunt. Looking forward to hearing about your hunt and comparing notes after all is said and done.

You booked with Kowas? Be ready for the time of your life. I hunted there last May, and will be there again April 23-28. The Kowas owners and staff are as good as it gets.

Will let you know how it goes when we get back in May.

Hopefully there is no problems flying through the US should not be if I have all my papers in place. Using Air 2000 in Jo Burg to help get into South Africa smoothly.

You'll have a good time with Wild Horizon. I hunted with them a few years ago. Good bloke is Guy. Let us know how you get on.

Had great time they treat you like friends and family. The flight through the US was no problem for myself but my traveling companion got the wrong customs officer and spent 1 hour in secondary until someone with knowledge of the transiting through the US laws. The only problem that I had was Delta was almost 2 hours late leaving Atlanta and we missed our flight to East London.

Wow looks like an incredible time, I leave in Aug for mine . Hope I have as good as luck!

One more Canadian in the works won't hurt anything.

Didn't know we had a quota on Canadians ... Rockhound, glad you got in just in time!!! You will have a blast!!!!

Yep looks like you had a good hunt.

I also took a Blesbok, Zebra and an Impala. All were old mature animals but the Zebra which was a younger mare so the hide has no scars or bite marks. We are all very happy with the quality of the trophies that we got. The days ocean fishing and goose hunting were a blast as well. Want to get some geese for the taxidermist the next time. the goose hunt was a last minute thing and the trophies were already at the taxidermy 3 hours away.

Hamy you will have a great time.

When I have some time I will tell the story of the trip, this should be in a week or so.

I have been using a "Personal Property" rider on my State Farm homeowner's policy to cover guns when I travel with them.
I have several firearms, but only one is worth over $20K (A Heym double rifle).
Very interested.
Would firearms be covered for damage, as well as, complete loss?
I'll can let the State Farm rider cover my watches...
Behind the scenes of taking that perfect picture.....

trperk1, I bought the Kimber Caprivi 375 back in an earlier post. You attached a target with an impressive three rounds touching 100 yards. I took the 2x10 VX5 off and put a VX6 HD Gen 2 1x6x24 Duplex Firedot on the rifle. It's definitely a shooter curious what loads you used for the group. Loving this rifle so fun to shoot. Africa 2026 Mozambique. Buff and PG. Any info appreciated.
Ready for the hunt with HTK Safaris
