Neighbors

I live in a bit over an acre of land, and next to my property I have a neighbor who is a great neighbor. However, him and his wife like to have get together, and he ropes off the property line, so people won't drive into our property and run the chance of damaging pipes or sprinkler heads. Well, his guests are either stupid, ignorant or just flat out inconsiderate. Last night he had a get together, he roped off the area, so they wouldn't drive through the yard since it had been raining for two solid days. Well, the stupid, ignorant and inconsiderate guests, opted by driving around the roped off area and through my front yard. I didn't notice this until this morning.

I sent him a text telling him I was not happy with the behavior of his guests, and that they had driven through my front yard. Risking damaging the water main, sprinkler pipes and sprinkler heads. I'm waiting on his reply.

I'm trying to figure out what to do. One solution I'm thinking of is to put some shrubs on the property line to keep the idiots off my yard. What are you gents thoughts?

When I lived in South Florida, there used to be a show called Help me Howard. You would write to him with your legal issues, and he would post the question on TV, with the legal advice on what to do. LOL!

Thanks for listening, I needed to vent.
I just spent a good chunk of the week picking rocks at our Minnesota hunting property. Too bad you're not closer i woukd have been happy to bring you a couple loads. So handy owning a Bobcat T650;) On second thought that thing will pick up most cars and carry them off...

My father-in-law got tired of a route truck cutting through his pasture drive and after politely asking and getting no results he took his post hole digger and buried a telephone pole 5 ft deep in the ground in the middle of the path and then cut it off 16 inches above the ground. Then he wired a tumbleweed to it to camouflage it. That truck hit it at 25 mph and it took out everything below the bumper. Oil pan, radiator and transmission case. He watched the driver walking out of the field and called the drivers boss to come pick him up. ( this was before cell phones). 40 years later that pole is still there. Google earth shows that path as a road. I pity the next one that tries it.

It sounds like your neighbor is honorable but he has ignorant friends. You may have legal rights, but I'd suggest you take the neighborly approach to work with him about the problem.

If you have a claim and win in court, you'll regret the escalating tensions that ensue with your neighbor. Perhaps tell him they are too stupid for his courtesy ropes and maybe he can put in shrubs or other structures to keep them from ruining your lawn?

99% of neighbors are a-holes that wouldn't even put up ropes. This guy seems to be honorable, work with him to solve the problem.

Had a mate I’ve who was a surf life safer. Lifeguard in your neck of the woods I used to go down and hangout with him. Have a good look at the bikini fish on the beach. This one day Tomo was pick up dog shit and making this god awful paste out of it with to scrapers. I’m like what the hell are you up to with that.
He’s says’s just watch this. These two guys come strolling up the beach go and unlock there car and both reach for the door handles as they yack across the roof top. Driver get his first lifts his hand just as the passenger gets his second. Yep Tomo has smashed this up under the door handles on both sides.
I’m what did they do wrong?
Dicks parked in the Ambulance parking area.
They pull out next one pulls in‍ he must have done a half dozen while I was there it’s sometimes the simplest things eh!

As we say in Texas "good fences make good neighbors"!

How’s that one south of you coming along? ;) Sorry Mr Glass couldn’t help it I’ll leave now:)
Ha! Not sure but hopefully it's going up.

Fortunately, or unfortunately my wife and I live in this neighborhood, so our plan is to keep the peace with our neighbor to the East. We spoke, and he volunteer to pay any damages caused by his "stupid" guess as he called him. So far, no leaks from the pipes, and the grass is growing back. (y) Like I said earlier on the thread, he is a good neighbor, but unfortunately, we can't choose our family, and it seems like the idiot who drove in our yard is from his wife side of the family.

Mrs. PARA45 and I have decided to put some decorative bushes on the property line to prevent idiots from driving in our yard, and to maintain the peace with the neighbors. We will also mount a camera on that side of the house, and if it happens again while the bushes are growing, we'll have hard evidence.

In the meantime, we will continue to look for land, but that may take some time since the prices of dirt is still sky high in this area. Maybe we'll get lucky and find our little piece of heaven one of these days.

Thank you all for allowing me to vent, and for your comments, support and suggestions.

Now on to bigger and better things. I am 25 days from wheels up, and my fourth safari. :D

I'd like a bag of 100. I could actually pick it up since I'm in North Irving, but if you prefer, shipping it is fine.
