Neighbors

I’ve been very blessed living as rural as I am to only witness a couple of neighbour disputes one was a truck parked a crossed the end of a driveway while the owner partied across the road blocking a young man from being able to go fishing, levelling the bed of that truck off with a tractor bucket of cattle manure was the solution that time.
The other I witnessed as a young boy , a man and his son went to go in the woods one morning an found the road blocked by a truck, when asked to move the driver responded with a vulgar slur and proceeded to leave bird hunting. When he come back it was to find his truck had been winched up about 8 feet and then had a small section of chain Hooked from one tow hook over a limb and then to the other tow hook.

I believe you can buy foam ornamental rocks that are realistic enough to serve your purposes. Place them out and store them as needed.

Yep, like you we are lucky. Large gate structure then a half mile drive back to the house. Great field of fire as well
That's what we have! Don't worry about tbe German Shepherd, worry about wife with sniper tendencies;)

And the gear to back it up , what I’ve seen over the years of her collection is impressive.

This discussion reminded me of this meme I saw recently. :)

Man it really sucks for you guys who live in town!

We moved to our property in 1999, our closest neighbors were my in-laws 1/2 mile away. Then the surrounding farmers started selling off acreage piecemeal and now I have Neighbors, 5 to be exact within that half mile and two just across the property line screened by thick trees. I live in the county and they call the sheriffs office when a crop duster flys over or a cow moos. They really flip a biscuit when we dove shoot or heaven forbid I shoot a deer off of the back porch at 6:30AM!
The two closest are transplants from Illinois and New York. Why in the hell those slickers moved from up north to a mosquito and cottonmouth infested extreme south Alabama is beyond me!
Thank God I still have 70 acres behind the house to play on!

Would large decorative rocks look appropriate? They would be more immediate than shrubs and have the added advantage of causing damage to wayward vehicles.

Decorative boulders.
Maybe something like a split rail fence down the property line, all the way to the curb.
Decorative rocks/boulders would look good and should stop them from driving through. Expensive though, unless you happen to own an excavator. Shrubs would also work but requires time to establish and also constant maintenance and trimming. The split rail fence would look good and go up quickly. You could even do it yourself if so inclined.

On the other hand, 5-strand barbwire goes up quickly, relatively inexpensive, and nobody wants to drive their vehicle through it.

Punji sticks or Claymores. Go big right off the bat. Ooof. I know that is frustrating. Depending on where you live, shrubs could be a pin with initial cost and water requirements. I did do a hedge of viburnum (Texas) and that stuff was easy to establish and tough.

I'm with RR 314.

"Sometimes you got to kill one person early, to save killing four or five later." Marshal Virgil Cole, "Resolution", Robert B. Parker.

Sorry to hear of this my friend...

I would hope you still have sheriffs deputies that are local boys and can talk reason.

The mostly rural county i spent most of my life in could be pretty stupid about a lot of things and not always Ag friendly because of a couple old idiots on the board. But one old hog farmer got elected to the board and got a clause added to any and all permits issued outside of a city. It requires a statement to be signed acknowledging that it is farm country and things happen like smells, noises, dust, equipment on roads, etc. Certainly makes the Sheriff's job easier if they get a complaint call;)
