There are quite a few options of flights.
From Atlanta, I agree with the answer below, that a direct flight to Johannesburg might be the best option.

Other airlines that might also have options:
- Lufthansa (via Frankfurt)
- Qatar Airways (via Doha)
- Ethiopian Airlines (via Addis Ababa)
