My Son Needs Shooting Sticks

If anyone is dubious about spending the money on quad sticks you can make a set for next to nothing using 4 poles from the garden centre or DIY store and an old bicycle inner tube or four really strong rubber bands. If you search making monkey sticks on google you will find detailed instructions on a British deer stalking forum. They take a bit to get used to and I always advise folk to do some high volume 22lr plinking or rabbit shooting to get used to manipulating them into position. Once you are used to them you won’t look back, they are miles better than any sort of tripod. I now have graduated to using Viper Flex and they are great as you can adjust length very easily but they don’t get me any more deer than the cheap set of sticks

Here's a photo of Tony receiving that Shaw & Hunter award at the 1970 annual EAPHA Dinner Dance. Tony Dyer, then EAPHA President and Princess (Sunny) von Auersperg presented it. I also attended the event.

Good Afternoon,
How firm are you on your Dakota 416? I am highly interested but looking at a few different guns currently.

Best,
BJ
