I used a cousin of that rifle on my own plains game hunt, a CZ 550 Lux, with great results. Your rifle has a bit more..........pedigree, though. I too am located in Ontario, and I gotta ask, where did you manage to track down that piece?

In answer to your questions, I picked it up at Switzer's Auction in Bancroft, ON. They have some pretty neat stuff come across there fairly frequently. Got into a bit of a bidding war with a guy that lives about 40 mins NW of me. We were both bidding on ZG 47's in 8x57 & 9.3x62. He got the 8x57 and I the 9.3.

Would have liked to been in Jon's shoes...wow that's pretty cool!

Update. Well I finally got to shoot the ol' girl. After mounting and sighting in a new scope, the last three shots cloverleafed 0.30" at 100yds! Wind was blowing at 40mph on a diagonal from behind me as well. I was impressed! Load was using 285gr PRVI SP's. My CZ 550 9.3x62 will do the same with 285gr Lapua MEGA's as well.

Update. Well I finally got to shoot the ol' girl. After mounting and sighting in a new scope, the last three shots cloverleafed 0.30" at 100yds! The PRVI SP’s are great rounds. Picked up six boxes for practicing at around $1 a round and was very pleased with the performance

Witold would be proud of me. Picked up a ZG 47 in 9.3x62. Don't think the bolt is original though. Jeweled bolt & modified bolt shroud with wing type safety. From what I gather from CZ there a very few of these in this calibre.
