My name is_______ and I have a problem

I can't tell you to stop. I'm currently lusting after some type of double square bridge in 404J with a gorgeous piece of wood on it. And I've lusted after a double rifle for most of my life it seems. I can't afford either. And I don't have another hunt booked where either of those rifles would be used.

Still, fun to dream and search the internet and read the books on cartridges and calibers . . .

At least here you find support and validation. Of all my friends, I only have one that doesn't look at me like I'm insane when I talk about wanting a $5,000 Rizzini 20 gauge. But even that one friend DOES think I'm insane when I start talking about $20,000 Rigbys.

My Dream Team -

Rigby Highland Stalker - .275 Rigby, 9.3x62, and 416 Rigby

Better option - have Parkwest build these for you.

Best option - Have Matt Roberts build them....

Aim high to hit high.....
I'd have to disagree with you on the "better option"...at least in my opinion.

There is no comparison to having 3 Rigby rifles (two chambered in classic Rigby cartridges) and having Park West build them. Buy and hunt the Rigby rifles...even with scratches they will be worth more than the Park West rifles if they are kept in pristine condition.

Me: Retired Army, founding member of the Action Pistol Team, shot competitively for a living for many years. Love cool guns, and by cool I mean accurate, fast, great ergonomics etc.

My current lust is a Rigby 275 (7x57). Out of my price range.

Please tell me I am an idiot and stop looking at such things.

:)
Oh boy, you come to this forum to ask we help you resist???
Nothing but inablers here, but you'll get help selecting one!:LOL:

Get a Ruger #1 in 275 Rigby, have it slimmed down by a skilled gunsmith, and you will have a very fine stalking rifle.

RJ has mine right now. I finally bit the bullet and sent it in. Report will follow!

gearguywb, did you by chance ever shoot at the National Pistol Match in Camp Perry Ohio? If so what year(s)? Most of us like "cool" guns as well. Rest assured, you are in good company.
I did not. I was a USPSA, Bianchi Cup, Steel Challenge shooter

Any Rigby would be awesome.
I will endorse the R8 as well. My wife calls it the Pandora bracelet of guns. You buy one and have fun continually buying new ”charms” to add to it.
And therein lies the problem. I bout a R8 with a 375 and 300WM barrel....but that doesn't stop me from from dreaming of a sexy Rigby...

Ignore the blaser things....and the idea of being told to get a rigby in that 375 thingy...:E Horrified::E Horrified:..one in 275 and 416 and you are sorted ....see I have cut your costs down by one rifle.....but in the future add the 350 rigby light....:A Thumbs Up::D Beers:

You and I have the same problem, love the rifle but just dont want to part with the cash. But we can still dream.

Now that's just plain rude....saying 1 in 275 and 1 in 416 and he's all sorted...then to through in add 1 in 350.

You know everyone needs the hunt everything in the world 375H&H, and hunt everything in North America with a 30-06 and he really ought to look into DRs for Dangerous Game hunting in Africa.

We are here to support @gearguywb by encouraging him how he really needs his dream rifle 257 Rigby. And since he now has his 257 Rigby he can't stop there, his 257 needs friends, lots of friends like a:
375H&H, in a Rigby or Holland & Holland
30-06, in a Rigby or at least Winchester Mod 70
35 Whelen (can't leave one of our most esteemed member @Bob Whelen 35 Whelen) off the list, 416 Rigby in a DR,
338WM, in a Winchester Mod 70
458WM or Lott
45-70 Government
7mm Rem Mag or at least 270 for flatter trajectory at long distance shots
222 or 22 magnum for the really small stuff
12 gauge O/U or SxS, okay in 20 gauge maybe

@ spiket have you no shame, @gearguywb a newbie comes to us for real support. How dare you only offer him sympathy support.

:E Rofl::E Rofl::E Rofl:

After gg returns and post his hunt report with pictures as he lays in bed all warm and fuzzy hugging his 257 Rigby at night more than his wife or girlfriend whichever, then we plant the idea he needs to go after DG and really needs more, bigger Rigbys to fondle adding in a diverse mix of Winchesters. Maybe try interracial with an R8.

(Oops,.... I said 2 naughty words in the same sentence, R8, hope I didn't offend anyone).:ROFLMAO:
