My house doesn't want me to go back to Africa

Real estate always appreciates outside of the inner city if you can find a way to swing the purchase. Vacant lots/land in areas that will be developed. No buildings/houses to maintain. That’s what got me going plus a bunch of hard work (same as you). Also, when the stock market takes a serious hit, like the COVID hit or the 2008 recession, I went in heavily on good blue chip stocks. They always go back up after the panic ends. I use the gains for my safaris.

It's called the joy of home ownership.

I thought that it would be all peachy and easy going once my home was paid off. Boy was I wrong. It seamed like for the next year after I made my final payment something always came up that cost what the payment was or even more. Then there are the down the road cost. My home is a older home so, new sewer line, new water supply line, windows, and other things. Then comes next year, a new roof $$$$$$ it is never ending.

Darn houses! You’d think that for the price you paid for one you would get something that doesn’t need constant maintenance.

Yep , bye bye Zimbabwe buffalo hunt
drought killed my pecan trees by the house, $8000 per tree to remove

Everyone always thinks about the worst thing that can happen, maybe ask yourself what's the best outcome that could happen?
