Gentleman,

I am booking my first trip with my best friend to go to Africa. We are buying .375 H&H as our caliber of choice and to have the same ammo etc. I have a line on two rifles one is a cz550 custom with a 20" barrel glass bedded etc. the other is a 25" same glass bedding. The only difference being the length of barrel.

Cost aside, is their a major downside to going with the 20". I am leaning towards it due to mobility and comfort of movement. My concerns are muzzle blast and reduced velocity. I could not find any conclusive ballistic charts showing the FPS loss from a 5" shorter barrel.

I can get these rifles at a pretty strong discount vs if I go out and have them build this and cut a standard 25" down.

Basically my question is am I crazy to want the 20" over the 25"?

I apologize if this is covered in the past but I could not find anything using the search. Thank you again

The short barrel will lead to a tremendous muzzle blast. The people near you will have ringing ears for hours.
Suggest the longer barrel also for balance.

Out of all the different color variations of Impala the black Impala just stands out with its beautiful pitch black hide.

Impala is one of the animals you will see all over Africa.
You can see them in herds of a 100 plus together.

This excellent ram was taken with one of our previous client this past season.
