My calibers for hunting in Africa

I was thinking something more substantial, like " a G- Wiz" ,@ ,cash up front with 25 plates, and none of your gun slinging ranch hands all around with "black guns" and "308" s around when I go to collect. I don't want to wind up bush meat for vultures and lions.

What kind of farm do you have? And how do you stop the wildlife from eating your stuff?

I am a macadamia farmer.
We have hippo, Bush pigs, duiker, side striped jackals, monkeys and bushbuck on the farm, none of which I hunt so they are all quite tame (except for the monkeys...)
I have a very nice range though and will pay you 5 Zimbabwe for every plate you break. You can pony up 5 US for every one you miss.

The only black gun here is mine. My ranch hands are pretty handy with a panga (machete) though...

You have to give me odds. I reckon your skills merit 175 quandrillion to one!

All kidding aside, we require a permit and a valid reason to shoot hippo which is something we would rather not do. Last year we shot a female hippo which had killed one of my employees. She was a particularly belligerent animal.
286 gr solid from .375 did the job on land.

Zim $100 Trillion notes are now selling on Ebay for $50-$100USD each. Hard to believe. 8-10 years ago I gave a few hundred away to friends. Even put a couple in the collection basket at Church. Accountant wouldn't let me write it off. But, don't fret for me. My son still has $1,000(paid) of collectible baseball cards that are now worth $30.

Come on, we have to draw the line somewhere... 17H will be fine as long as you use solids, brass only though, not those flimsy steel jacketed lead core things... but be careful of pass through in a herd situation

I don't know Pete, seems kind of light, I think I'd better stick with my .243...
