That is one HUGE red stag in your avatar! NZ?
Maybe time for that part time job Art!So many nice rifles so little money
I had a small package show up today. This Ruger Guide Gun in 416 Ruger is extremely nice for the money! Metal work is the best I've seen on a Ruger. Wood to metal fit is very good, and it feeds Hornady factory ammo! I shot it 3 times this evening with the brake in place. Recoil is nothing. I will practice with the brake on, and hunt with the muzzle weight in place. My ears are already half gone from shooting revolvers without hearing protection as a kid. So, I can't stand to lose anymore. The rifle weighs in at 7lbs 12oz unloaded. I have a new Leupold 2-7x33 and a new Leupold 1.5-5x20 scope in the safe ready to install. Just need to decide which one I want to use. Overall very pleased with this rifle. I love lightweight stainless rifles, so the Winchester 70, 416 Rem that started this thread may be for sale soon, if this one shoots as good as it feels and functions ......

Wannabe buffalo hunter in the making....400 H&H (next to 308 NM)View attachment 205007
What action is your rifle built on? I emailed Granite Mountain Arms and asked about a 404 Jeff barreled action and they said 8-9 months delivery. I didn't ask the price. Didn't want to kill the dream.
Very nice! Going after one of those next year.Rick thanks for the praise on the stag he was a big boy, from the south island of NZ.
Here is a recent buff 43" with 17" boss a truly massive old "Dugga Boy" that really didn't like getting hit with a 416 rem. Still took 2 broadside lungs and the last one quarter straight on at me. to end him. Sorry cant see the 416 well but it is a custom job built on a win 70 action, Krieger cut riffle fluted barrel, synthetic stock, Swarovski scope lighted circle dot, and yes a muzzle brake. I like the buff better than the gun!
