My 9.3x62 barrel has arrived

Finally my shaw 9.3 barrel I ordered on black Friday came, would have shipped that week but ordered a custom 6 arc barrel for my buddy so that was the hold up. Should make a nice rifle on that 09 argentine action I have for it. Still need to pull the old barrel off and get this one on, but have to wait for the next month or so till I go up to my dad's to do it. Still need to find a local Smith to d&t the receiver and make a bolt handle to have someone weld on. I'll rent the reamer, I can do that at home after the barrels on.

I'm debating using my birthday money for the necg sights but I'd like to get a scope for my m70, I'm thinking a Bell and Carlson stock would look nice once I rust blue the gun.

Anyone know if there a formula for sights placement, I know there's one for figuring out sight hight and for finding what hight front sight you need.

I don't know the answer but I would ask NECG. I'm sure they would help - especially if you're using their sights.

Ohhhhh. My bad, I didn't catch that part. I generally put them 1/4 down the barrel or so. Similar to where they would be placed on a 1/4 rib.

OK I'll have to look at some pictures and see what looks right, maybe hard to judge without a stock yet.

On my Zastava factory 9.3 x 62 the distance from receiver ring to center of sight base is 4.090” for rear sight.

4 to 5 inches from the receiver seems common for the rear sights, thanks for the info.
