My 404 is finally done

Proneshooter, i sincerely wish you are not offended by my joke.
The rifle is simply fantastic!
In my ignorance of the American medium-small gun manufacturers ,I never heard the name "Satterlee"
Do they produce actions starting from raw material or are they working on existing actions?

No offence taken, though I will admit had not explained the photo in your next post, the joke would have gone over my head. Stuart Satterlee produces his actions from the ground up. He is an amazing machinist and gunsmith. I never thought I would be able to own two of his actions (375 build in progress).

Your rifle is beautiful. Best of luck on your buff hunt.

Welcome to the 404 Jeffery club, there is not a greater rifle to shoot with than the 404 Jefery. It is my "go to " rifle when hunting bushveld game as well as plains game . If ever I get an opportunity to hunt buffalo, it will be the rifle I want to use shooting a 450gn bullet ."The most perfect rifle/bullet combination hunting buffalo " Dr. Kevin Robertson...

What will you do to prevent scratches /damage on Safari in Africa when hunting dangerous game ???

Gert,
My last 404 got lost when a hippo turned over our boat (cough, cough, wink, wink). I will not do a darn thing special to stop any scratches. Remember, chicks dig scratches....or is that scars?

Thanks Mike,
Lots side jobs to pay for this one, looking forward to getting my next Buffalo in the sights. I have an 8 year old kid in Zimbabwe who has claimed this rifle as his, told him not until I cannot walk anymore. He's going to get my 318 WR someday, but not yet.

Currently doing a load development on a .404 Jeffrey... it's always surprising to load .423 caliber bullets into a .404 caliber rifle. But we love it when we get 400 Gr North Fork SS bullets to 2300 FPS, those should hammer down on buffalo. Next up are the Cutting Edge solids and then Raptors... load 200 rounds of ammo for the customer and on to the next gun!
To much to political shit, to little Africa :-)
Spending a few years hunting out west then back to Africa!

I doubt you are interested in any trades but I was getting ready to list a Sauer 404 3 barrel set in the 10-12 price range if your interested. It has the 404J, 30-06 and 6.5 Creedmoor barrel. Only the 30-06 had been shot and it has 7 rounds through it as I was working on breaking the barrel in. It also has both the synthetic thumbhole stock and somewhere between grade 3-5 non thumbhole stock
