Hi all just finished a great hunt in Mozambique with @BAYLY SIPPEL SAFARIS in Mutemba safaris lodge. Dempsey Bayly was my PH. These guys can get you almost anything you may want to hunt. My wife and I had a great time with some very good people. They gave a very good active anti poaching program in place. I shot 2 cape buff one by Necessity as it charged unwounded from 25m 5-6 yo soft bull. Almost got us we got a good shot in each and slipped past by a few feet and hit the ground. A few days latter We saw a bull come in on dusk to drink and saw he had a snare on back foot, I decided I wanted that bull. Trackers picked up the tracks next day and we caught up after about 4 hrs tracking. I was using my Merkel double 450/400. We had to pull boots off to finish stalk. Got him good first shot. A couple follow up's and yay. Also shot warthog, Nyala, impala. Then we saw a zebra mare with snare on foot in very bad condition also had horrible wound on neck from old snare. This had actually cut through to wind pipe we can only figure she could drink with head down as in this position it closed off the whole in her throat, I shot her out of mercy. Then I shot a great stallion. The next day the rangers saw tracks of another zebra and asked if we could find it. The snare had broken his back leg. We tracked next day and I shot him at about 130 m. This zebras wound was over 6 months old. Tough animals. I had taken the trijicon red dot off after buffalo, and fitted 1-4 scope. Making it a bit easier to hunt the plains game. Over all it was very very good we had a great time with great hosts. And of course the trackers made this Aussie guide look blind.

You did some good work on that safari. Well done taking the injured and also surviving the buffalo!

I’m going after my final big five animal leopard for my second attempt and going to Moz for the effort. Curious any thoughts on leopard while you were there?

Cheers for taking the wire for a trophy.
Congratulations on your hunt.

I would like to put a snare around a Poachers private parts with a ten pound weight and tie his hands behind his back. Then take him for a long ride from his home. Should be a long walk back!

The amount of suffering those animals endured is heartbreaking. I applaud you for taking the time to end their suffering.

have you guys heard about the Christmas ornaments that the Jim Green boot company makes out of old snares? I haven't bought any yet, but I think its a great way to generate some revenue and shed some light on the problem.

Interesting events on your hunt. Can we see some pix of the buffalos you took?

Well done Lyle, what a wonderful safari. And what a privilege to be able to end the suffering for those poor animals.
What sort of range did you shoot the PH at?

Congratz on a fine safari. Being a very responsible sportsman in ending the suffering of the animals is to be applauded:A Big Hello:

@Kevin Peacocke said "What sort of range did you shoot the PH at?" Must be tough safari if the PH's tip is being shot? Hopefully with a blindfold and a good last meal.

Sorry Kevin I couldn't resist the humor, thank you for the laugh.

Hi firebird having trouble downloading I will try shrinking the size a big only got hm Kate last night

Hate to hear about all the snaring!

Could you share with us how many buffalo and elephant you saw?
Saw a fair few elephant and buffalo in the area we went to. They have other areas in other countries. I think only 4 permits a year for elephant in this concession and 18 buffalo. Sorry for late reply only just got hm. Still having trouble uploading photos.
