MOZ Terrorist Attack..

Shooting up some animals is not worth risking life and limb,...go somewhere else. Any information coming out of that area, even from the outfitters is suspect. The last thing they want over there is word to get out its dangerous as hell, well, I think we are going to see a lot of instability in places like Africa going forward in the short term....

Sadly, I can't do anything about warnings on your machine. My Firefox software allows me to access the site without issues or warnings. I have attached a screen shot of the information above.

Works fine on Apple Safari and also on Startpage. If you are using Google, change browsers.

Each of us have different risk tolerances, just like traveling during or shortly after Covid. Hunting itself has some risk to it, let alone doing it in a foreign country. Africa as a continent can be relatively unstable with certain areas more prone to issues. A good outfitter isn't going to lie to you about security concerns. Should something happen that would come back to seriously bite them, but TIA and it's hunting, anything can happen.

It should be noted that some great hunting areas in Mozambique are a significant distance from the area impacted (over 1400 miles). I'd hate to let a double homicide in NYC impact my decision to go fishing in Miami.

I for one will keep an eye on Mozambique as well as the prices for hunts in and around Niassa. There might be some great deals to be had.

People went to Rhodesia during the latter days of the bush war. I think some of the South African security forces even went around handing out HK’s to some clients up near the Zambezi.

Hoping we can still do our 2026 Safari…
You're the only one stopping your 2026 Safari from happening. You might be able to get some extra quota or reduced fees if outfitters in Mozambique keep seeing hunters cancelling and postponing hunts.

I just laid plans to hunt with Cabassa after buying a hunt at the Wild Sheep banquet, for hyena and buffalo. Was leaning towards 2025, but 2026 is sounding better to the misses. They are further to the west by solid bit, so I'm still excited to go. If the misses and I weren't also going to Namibia next May, I would try to go both in 2025/2026. I was still working my way into her seeing the logic in going both years until this sad event happened. She initially wanted me to just abandon the idea, but is now at least on board with 2026. We'll see if there is any movement on 2025 still if things stay to the east.

These damn terrorists sure know how to ruin humanity as well as a decently good time. For the folks that live their lives in that country, seems to make a hard existence nearly intolerable and our first-world issues trivial at best.

My last trip to Moz had me flying over the "troubled" areas. Safe and sound.
The PH had to drive through the problems with army escort to get to camp.
We wondered through countless communities during the day long drive and never an issue.

Will I walk into an active war zone, nope. Stayed out of CAR as the boys from Chad invaded the hunting areas.

South Africa had tales of garbage strikes, burning tires, etc, etc.
Drove myself around the garbage strike by going over a block in the town and took a detour around the tire blockade on a country road. Never an issue.

Assess your own risk tolerance and deal with it.

I have been using a "Personal Property" rider on my State Farm homeowner's policy to cover guns when I travel with them.
I have several firearms, but only one is worth over $20K (A Heym double rifle).
Very interested.
Would firearms be covered for damage, as well as, complete loss?
I'll can let the State Farm rider cover my watches...
Behind the scenes of taking that perfect picture.....

trperk1, I bought the Kimber Caprivi 375 back in an earlier post. You attached a target with an impressive three rounds touching 100 yards. I took the 2x10 VX5 off and put a VX6 HD Gen 2 1x6x24 Duplex Firedot on the rifle. It's definitely a shooter curious what loads you used for the group. Loving this rifle so fun to shoot. Africa 2026 Mozambique. Buff and PG. Any info appreciated.
Ready for the hunt with HTK Safaris
