Most amount of days without shooting while in Africa?

It’s hard to recall from so many trips. I can say easily 5-6 days several times. Remember there are really tough hunts out there unlike the average safari. Zim and Cameroon come to mind. Tough hunts in true wilderness are a contrast to game farms hunts.
Depends on whats on the list. My longest runs were on SA game ranches. I think the last SA hunt was 10 days, and only took one critter on the 10th day, a big nyala. Had been hunting eland as the main quarry and never connected.
Anyone tells me ranch hunts are an easy sure thing dont know about my kind of hunting luck.

Getting a shot never seemed a problem but I have gone on safari and not taken a shot in 12 days. Didn't want to or need to but I guess that is cheating the question. :) I shot a buffalo early one hunt and just drove around with the PH, trackers and game scout visiting other camps, working on roads and bridges, taking pictures and visiting villages the rest of the time. One of the most relaxing vacations I've ever had.

In Africa, probably the last four days of a fourteen day hunt in Mozambique that we dedicated to trying to walk down one of those magnificent big blue Livingstone Eland. We finally connected late in the morning of the last day.

My longest stretch without shooting was 3 days. In total I did not shoot on 6/13 days. I did have a couple of two-animal days on days that I did shoot.

I also have that kind of luck! I’ve enjoyed all my trips but I would not say I’ve ever had a slam dunk trip where I got all I wanted. Maybe my first safari in 1997. I got everything on my package plus some. At the time I shot all I could afford!
I’ve enjoyed every day I’ve spent in Africa. The exception would be the stomach bug that hit us like a freight train in Zim.

I have gone 10 days hard hunting looking for a 80 lb Elephant.....

Hi Jay,

Hope you're well.

I'm headed your way in January.

Attending SHOT Show has been a long time bucket list item for me.

Finally made it happen and I'm headed to Vegas.

I know you're some distance from Vegas - but would be keen to catch up if it works out.

Have a good one.

Mark
