The 17th of Nov. was a good day, while he isn't like the Midwest giants he's a good buck for out here and me. Taken in the general season 17 yards from a tree stand after a few all day sits at 3pm. Four big jumps and I watched him pile up. A P&Y whitetail has been kind of a bucket list thing for me after taking 5 deer that wouldn't quite make it after deductions. The buck green scores 141 and nets 134 because of the missing G4. So I finally got my P&Y buck!

Awesome!!! You couldn’t have made a better shot based on the pic of that heart!!!

Nice buck, congrats!

Nice buck! What part of Montana were you hunting?

Nice buck Jeff! You couldn’t have center punched that heart any better with GPS, radar and an anatomical chart.

Congrats, nice buck @jeff!

I should have mentioned that I was shooting a Bowtech assassin at 63# with a 420 grain arrow.

How is the meat flavor? I’m curious if others experience a different flavor with older bucks like that. I’ve only ever had one deer that I thought the meat flavor was off.

Great buck from my old stomping grounds! Congratulations!

The meat is excellent. I was worried that he might be strong but he had almost no odor and the meat is tender. He's.also the fattest deer I've ever taken with up to a inch and a half all over his back and hams.

I’m sure a perfect shot like that helped to keep the meat free of any adrenaline!

I personally think thanksgiving dinner should be an entire rare/medium rare backstrap!

Very good shooting. Nice buck anywhere. Congrats
Bruce

@Mac Baren, I live central to city of Cincinnati. I have work travel early this week but could hopefully meet later this week (with no schedule changes). What area of town are you working/staying in?
Kind regards
Ron
