Good luck with their time frame. I ordered a .280 Remington, October 14/2016 and still waiting. They told me 10-14 weeks when I placed my order. Beyond frustrated with this company

I heard they were slow on the ones in stainless steel. Did you have to pay something down

I paid for the entire rifle. Funny thing is I just received an email. that it is being shipped, I would never buy from this outfit again. Worst customer service I have ever had the displeasure of working with.

Their shipping is quite erratic. I waited forever for a customers 416 RM, actually had to loan him a medium bore to make his hunt. But I will say they seem to be getting better. Ordered 6 rifles from them less than 3 months ago and all but one are in. Burger King your way right away they are not, but if you want one you unfortunately have to wait or order from a stocking dealer. Hope you enjoy your rifle though Guster!

Guster, hopefully it will shoot and function as well as mine in 375 H&H after your wait. I have shot maybe 10 different factory loads which range from a max of 1 1/2" to a min of 5/8". Handloads down to 5/16" for 3 shots at 100 meters. It now has taken Cape buffalo, bushpig, bushbuck and a fine duiker.

Hopefully get a scope on it this week and break it in this weekend. If it shoots as well as the rest of my MRC rifles, I will be pleased. The wood has been pretty nice on the AVR's that we have ordered.

Speaking of this brother @Bullthrower338 , how did the recent hunt go?

I agree the sights are not close to what should be on a DG rifle. They are functional at best but are quite ugly, and I am hoping not to need them with a nightforce NXS on the 505 and a VX-6 on the 416 RM. I would gladly pay more for a quarter rib with some folding leafs though for sure. And a barrel band! I really have no plans for either of the rifles to see DG use so I'm not running out to get the work done but I damn sure would have ordered them so configured had the option been available.

Agree with you completely. Certain type rifles should have quarter ribs and leaf sights. The cost of adding them on after the fact can range from around $900 with NECG to $2300 or so at Griffin and Howe. AND depending on the rifle, the barrel may have to be re-blued on top of that. That $2300 is half or more of a SA PG hunt or about 2 new Winchesters!!!

Hunt went great, bulls were going crazy! Unfortunately my buddies arrows weren't true, but I was very happy to see a clean miss rather than a bad hit. I had a blast and can't wait for my son's hunt in a few weeks! I located a couple bulls in his unit that had me drooling!

I have an earlier stainless Montana 1999 - I'd have to check but probably 10 years on the action. .375 H&H with a 20" barrel and a 3-position safety. The trigger is old-school pre-64 Model 70, personally tuned to around 1.75# with a glass-rod break.

When I got it was rough as heck. I sent it off to Brockman's for a going over - I'm honestly not sure how much he did or not but it was still rough when I got it back. I can say, when I got it back that rifle has never failed to feed and it ejects brass about 30 FEET to the right.

I spent about three weeks with a tube of Flitz for about 20-30 minutes a night. Here's the key: I never closed the action - just ran the bolt back and forth on the rails. Three weeks.

Today, that rifle is beyond smooth. It's as slick as baby snot on glass and chambers everything I stuff in the magazine.

300 gr. Partitions go up to 2,550 fps in that 20" tube and group 1" or better topped with a VX6 1-6 in Talley lightweights. I replaced the heavy laminated wood stock with a B&C I bought on clearance and the rifle weights in at 8# neat, not including 5 in the belly and one up the pipe.

This rifle is the ultimate in love-hate. It's ugly. I mean, it's six-pack Thursday night closing time ugly. I have absolutely no worries about dinging it up and subjecting it to nasty weather. It's light enough to carry all day, fits me well enough to fire 50 rounds off the bench, groups perfectly with four different 300 gr. bullets, handles as sweet as can be with that short stove-pipe of a barrel.

She ain't never gonna win a beauty contest but I'd also never hesitate to carry her on a hunt.

And I still can't quite bring myself to selling her.

The newer Montana's are much nicer finished.

What model did you order? Strange enough I picked up my leftie X2 extreme in 270 win last Friday.

Found mine (375 H&H) on Gunbroker. Ordered it and received it in a week. I’m sure if you want something special or different it will take more time. I suspect like any other manufacturing they build in lots/batches.
Ammo makers do the same for any specialized/obsolete ammo. Example: one of the outdoor writers has stated that Remington only makes 257 Roberts every few years.
JMT on the slow delivery issue.

Check out the lumber on this MRC in 375 that I just mounted a scope on for a customer! Mounted a Vortex Razor HDLH 1.5-8x32 with G4 BDC reticle set in Warne QD rings. What a fine set up, all he is lacking is practice and getting his butt on a plane.

Very nice wood! Mine’s Kevlar, but it shoots outstanding! I’m a retired (maybe that’s “really tired”) engineer, so I chose function over form (engineering illness). That said, I do have a great appreciation for a fine work of art!
