Mark, my oldest son Arthur Lambart II (who is also an AH member) is a Lefty. I was asking on his behalf. BTW the MRC guys also mentioned that "upgraded wood" would be standard on their new rifles.

With an MSRP of $3,300 that seems like a lot of rifle for the money when compared to the other factory options out there!

As mentioned above, I completely agree with stock. I know they have some time and money invested in the design, but seems like now would be the time to consider making some changes before things really get ramped up.

I've been given assurances that the design of the stock is to reduce felt recoil. The looks of it may not be ideal to some (including me), but if it performs as advertised...it could be a game changer.

I’m sure they have taken some cues from the rokstock and their joint venture with unknown munitions.

It is ugly but the overwhelming consensus has been that it helps with muzzle rise and staying on target for follow up shots.

Ian is sending me the barrel contour dimensions, if he every can get "un-busy" , so I can CAD up a quarter rib and banded front sight base for an aftermarket "enhancement" iron sights to their already wonderful rifle.

Refer to my post above. Left handed rifles? Is that 10% of the market? Nothing against left handed shooters but business wise, MRC will need to sell a lot of left handed rifles for them to be profitable.

I definitely understand the economics of producing left hand models but us lefty’s have to be optimistic.

Jeffery404, I think you are on the right track. Take the MRC action and barrel it and stock it how you prefer for your caliber preferences and body, neck and face demensions. This is more like Kimber than a custom one man builder.


As Mark said. Look at the failed business model of Dakota, and previously MRC to see what does not work.

Initially, actions, etc not available, as they have the hands full just building rifles (the hope is to have them offer the quarter ribs as option if makes business sense), so these were be put onto folks rifles.

that would be a nice option down the road if the rifles sell well.

My point was for all the custom requests. Buying the action is the best option. Have it barreled and stocked as you see fit. Of course that doubles or triples the price of the standard rifle.

Mark tells me that MRC is building the .458 Lott with the more traditional straight stock.

I’m really looking forward to getting one of these. I got to handle a prototype .375 at SCI Nashville and was very impressed. The custom options are very interesting, as there are few little things I’d like to add. My son and I have the exact same initials, and I’d like to get one with gold or silver stock shields with my initials on it. After a few safaris I’d then like to give it to him to use. If they do roll these out in one of the .416’s or .404 then I’ll order one of those as well.

I spoke with the MTR team at the SCI Convention in Nashville. They had a couple of rifles there and I was impressed with their fit, feel and finish. Looking forward to additional calibers.

I’m super interested to see what its brother rifle the Brooks looks like. From my understanding it’s the same rifle with a synthetic stock and cerakote.
