Oh yeah, I forgot about the birthday coupon. Mines coming up. "Beware the Ides of March". LOLMy only problem with Midway is how easy I can order stuff from them................when it's in stock.
They even do a pretty good job of notifying me when something that was out of stock and it comes in.
Love the birthday cupon
It's not international if it's to my US address (and yes, I do still have an American mailing address and an American bank account where my American military disability is deposited every month). My mistake was trying to use my Canadian credit card the first time years ago. Good old boy Larry flagged me as a Canadian and won't sell me anything no matter where I want it mailed to or even if I try to use my US bank card. Nope, you're a Canadian and ain't selling you nothing nohow. Rumor has it he got his boob in the wringer with US govt several years ago selling stuff internationally that he shouldn't have. It's okay. No other vendors have refused my orders. I can shop elsewhere. It ain't about you, sparky. That's kind of an exalted opinion of yourself. Potterfield doesn't give a crap about you. He doesn't give a crap about me, either.
Graf's doesn't do small orders outside of the US, either. As nearly as I can tell, Powder Valley doesn't ship international at all.
+1I had this happen with a different place where I made an order, but my card threw a flag so the order didn’t go through. When I talked to the credit card company they saw multiple attempts to charge the same amount. They say it was just an automatic attempt on the vendors part and not “real” charges. I told them to approve the charge and everything was OK. No multiple charges.

Midway sells lots of stuff that is not gun parts or ammo. They won't sell it to me on line or over the phone. Other vendors typically don't accept my foreign credit card because my billing address isn't zip code and can't be processed. It's why I have an American bank account with a card (actually, I've always had an American account since age sixteen). But for most online purchases I have always prefered to pay with my account here. Usually, a phone call to the vendor sorts it out. If the shipping destination is to a US address they don't care ... except Midway. I know a Canadian gunsmith who's run into the same issue with Midway. He has to have his daughter in Wisconsin place the order and pay for it and then she must send it on to his US address. I do the same for items I absolutely cannot find anywhere else. Call my brother in Montana and he places the order. As I recall, so far that's only been some gunsmithing stuff which is not regulated at all. Besides being a hassle, the shipping cost is double. So I will avoid Midway if at all possible.Have you made the Canadian CC mistake with the other vendors? You may have gotten the same treatment if you had. Regardless of your citizenship, they have to be careful about selling items they know are destined cross border.
Yes, this is common with online purchases I have learned. Checking my ebanking I see a double charge for same item (especially international purchases) but turns out one is still for "pending" even after the charge has been cleared. It can take a day or two for pending duplicate to disappear. The reason has never been explained to me in a way I can understand. Is what it is.I recently had an issue with a Redding part. Tapered expander came in and it was a standard expander. They couldn’t replace it, I had bought the last one. The gal on phone gave me Redding phone number, and I returned the midway part without any issues. I went to look at something yesterday, and Midway’s website had a note that they were temporarily down, some sort of website issue. They were back up last night when I looked. It’s probably something to do
With their website and they will fix the charges. I have had multiple charges occur like this and in the end only one clears
I quit dealing with Midway ... or rather they refuse to deal with me. I live in Canada but still am US citizen with a US bank account and US mailing address. But Midway still won't sell me anything because I live in Canada. Screw em.
It is not easily resolved with a couple of phone calls. I tried that as did my gunsmith buddy. In fact, if you are Canadian do NOT phone and tell them that or you are flagged forever. Been there. Phone calls work fine with other vendors.Midway is involved in all sorts of philanthropy related to hunting and shooting sports… they give tons of money to the scholastic shooting sports foundation for example, put a lot of money into NWTF, DSC, etc each year..
Potterfield is an avid hunter (he hunted at the same place we did in Argentina a few years back… is well documented hunting Africa, Europe, and other places), and by every account of every person I have known that has spent any time with him, a very gracious and kind person…
I’m going to guess any dual citizenship problem related to an American with an American address that also happens to have a Canadian address would be easily resolved with a couple of phone calls…
If resolution isn’t worth that level of effort… I’m pretty sure Midway isn’t noticing the lack of business or too concerned with it…
I typically wait until they have their “free shipping” week going on, and then also typically wait until whatever it is I want from them is on sale (I can usually find most things a little cheaper, other places)… but I still order from them at least 2-3 times a year.. and will continue to support them as a business…
I've ordered through Midway a great deal and their service has always been excellent. While I've not faced that specific issue, my recent midway experience was them selling "416 Taylor" dies through Amazon, and they delivered me 6.5-300WBY dies instead which I'm pretty sour about.
