MEXICO: Has Anyone Hunted With Worldwide Trophy Adventures (WTA)?

That’s a great list. I got a coati here in AZ and can say it’s a very cool trophy. You’re making me want to look into this a bit more now. A jungle hunt would be a great adventure I would think.

Definitely some nice trophies. Did you get the coati to the taxidermist?

I went with the flying mount. Best of luck, TheGrayRider a/k/a Tom.

That is an exceptional mount, congratulations!

I’d like to do that particular hunt someday. If you do it, I hope you leave us a good report!

I’ve used WTA tags services a few times, talk to them about potential trips now and then. Booked a hosted hunt to Mozambique with them. I feel like any complaints I have are kind of nitpicky, and that they have been pleasant enough to work with.

I don’t think I trust them so much that I would just purchase one of their packages without doing exactly what you’re doing and putting in my due diligence. They do make things convenient and made me feel much more comfortable about putting down a deposits and paying trophy fees for an international hunt.

Will definitely write a report. Hope things work out. Will get in the next couple of months an update for the dates in 2027 and then I will decide. Also looking into getting potential trophies into Europe and to a qualified taxidermist that works with birds, that are dry and salted.

I am slowly started to write my report from my last hunt in Namibia from last November. But I am taking my time and as English is not my native tongue it will probably take a while.

Salted bird certainly adds another wrinkle, but I’m sure you will get it sorted out. Maybe you just need to get an American guest in camp who can carry your frozen bird to a US
taxidermist for you

Looking forward to your Namibia report! Namibia will probably be my next trip with my boy.

And English is my native tongue but I am just a crap writer. I ended up posting a much shorter report than I intended., the I intend. I realized I was never gonna post anything if I didn’t just post what I had.

There will be room. They have a few spots in camp and there will always be multiple hunters in camp what they have told me. So sign up ;)

I recommend WTA to people, but only because they have something for everyone at almost every price point.

I follow their cancellations pretty hard and have been the 2nd place loser on a lot of cancellations that I felt like I should have had.

As in;

Have my email open, and see the email in my inbox and make a call to see if I can get it booked only to find they have it sold.

Not sure if this is an issue of them sending the sales email after they have things sold and then trying to bait and switch or not. Never had that experience, but never been the one to get on some of their cancellations.

They own a lot of their outfitters, which I think is admirable.

Hello everybody,

Next year will be my third safari to Africa. Whilst I have still lots more African countries and animals on my bucket list, I want to do a different hunt after that.

I am eying a possibility hunt in the Yucatan region of Mexico in 2027. A jungle hunt.

I am in contact with WTA. Did anyone of you hunt or booked a hunt with them. I know they are the agency and not the outfitter themselves but interested in people who have dealt with them and what your experiences were with them. Thanks in advance.
I hunted with Balam Outfitter’s owned by WTA in the Yucatan in 2023 . There was two turkey camps when I was there , one I never went to so can’t comment on that . The one I went to ,was I believe the original older camp with solid structures not tents. Beds all had new sheets a bit rustic but clean ,hey your 5 hours back in the jungle ,Shower and a flush toilet . The manager of our camp was Ramon Gonzalez he was an excellent host ,super knowledgeable and just an all around great guy to talk to . All the guys in camp got their birds plus a couple extra species . Lots of turkeys and the hunt was fun , you will be shooting them off the roost in the morning although we did try calling and called in hens and jakes . The food was excellent mostly ate turkeys we shot or Guam/Curosow but the chef was really good made everything from scratch , try the fat off the Oscillated it tastes like really good beef , the guides usually eat it all but ask them to save you a piece . Guides were excellent knew the area well . Would definitely recommend it if you’re going for a world slam. I had a buddy from that hunt go back and shoot a REALLY nice Brockett also .
The only negative was the birds once we got back ,shipping took a year for the other three guys in camp actually I think a year and a couple months extra .I’m still in touch with all the guys and so far two taxidermists have said the birds were unmountable . One taxidermist said it just fell apart the other taxidermist said whoever skinned it left to much fat on the skin and it was unmountable . My birds (2 Oscillated) are still in Mexico , coming up on two years this week ,so I’d imagine they’re pooched also for mounting. I contacted the guys at WTA and they were right on it with contacting the guys in Mexico but it’s outta there hands with getting them shipped to the states so really not a lot they can do. The permitting process seems to be a cluster $&@!.

Morning Rob, Any feeling for how the 300 H&H shoots? How's the barrel condition?

Hello. I see you hunted with Sampie recently. If you don't mind me asking, where did you hunt with him? Zim or SA? And was it with a bow? What did you hunt?

I am possibly going to book with him soon.
Currently doing a load development on a .404 Jeffrey... it's always surprising to load .423 caliber bullets into a .404 caliber rifle. But we love it when we get 400 Gr North Fork SS bullets to 2300 FPS, those should hammer down on buffalo. Next up are the Cutting Edge solids and then Raptors... load 200 rounds of ammo for the customer and on to the next gun!
