I only recently became aware of this book sadly following a post about the passing of the author here on AH. The book was not hard To find online and I got a new one, while older better printings were available but becoming pricey.
I loved this book, one of the hard to put down books. Full of short anecdotes, history of country, and many big elephants. I was especially interested when he wrote about the Samaras brothers and their beginning and end. We should all be so lucky as to have our names immortalized in old history as well as current. Most of the hunting adventures take place in the Selous and masailand. Lots of good pictures and something for about everyone. One I really enjoyed!

This is also on my list to get - looks great.

If you don’t mind spending a little money, get Tony Seth-Smith’s For the Honour of a Hunter. That is a remarkable book

So very sorry for his family. I am halfway through his book signed by him that is simply outstanding!!! Enjoying it tremendously! He had a full life well lived doing what he loved!

Thanks Baxterb, I just ordered a copy-

It's a good book.

Just finished it this morning. A endless assortment good short experiences. Would have loved to spend nights around a fire with the author. I especially enjoyed the chapter on hunting experiences in the Sudan. He had a Robin Hurt story or two that were especially fun. Thanks again for the suggestion.

This book is not just a story about hunting. Hunters of the past saw Africa as it was before the changes. It conveys the atmosphere of wild nature. I will order it for myself tomorrow, I just found a writing service for college, I used https://ca.edubirdie.com/pay-for-essay-writing for this. It just so happens that I will have free time to read it. Reading promises to be fascinating, at least that's what everyone says.
This book has long attracted my attention. I am interested in the spirit of adventure.
