Meat Eater - Steve Rinella in Africa

Public FEDERAL lands no less. Why does a WY or MT resident get special access to MY federal resource I pay for and cannot utilize. If it’s State land in their States I should shut up and take what comes my way as a non-resident.
Totally agree!

That is not correct. Saying you do not want a public resource (game animals) exploited for the sake of pure monetary gain does not make you a socialist.

this is essentially a new form of market hunting. The Tragedy of the Commons is heavily at work here. Prudence is not.

I would be happy to forward you his phone number. He would be more than glad to have you on the podcast where you and he can hash it out. He’s always looking for guests.
Yesterday I went through the painful process of listening to many of Matt's podcasts. I wanted to further educate myself since I am being challenged here. Here is a synopsis so everyone can judge him themselves:
1. He lives in Montana and works for the government. He only hunts public land solo and criticizes anyone else hunting any other way. And I mean ANY OTHER WAY!
2. He just went to Africa for the first time. Where did he go? Wait for it..... Kenya! The one place where hunting is banned. And he comes back stating that Kenya is the model for wildlife conservation and commercial Hunting in Africa is not needed. Wow is he ignorant of anything and everything outside of his state. Truth is Kenya lost 90% of their wildlife after the ban. Sure the parks are great but that's it.
3. He is a pure Socialist and leans Communist. A previous podcast had him criticizing Mossy Oak and Sitka for having Hunting real estate companies as sponsors. He believes that all land should be sold to the government for public access! He is against free trade of property and went on for an hour about it!
4. He believes that all farmers and ranchers that accept any federal money should be forced to allow any Tom, Dick, and Harry to hunt their land at will. He is sinfully jealous of private landowners and want them gone or at least have all their rights taken away. He drones on with his slightly more educated sidekick for hours about these things. It's painful!

As a Texas landowner, Constitutional Conservative, hunter, lover of African hunting, I must state that Matt Rinella is the enemy.

Regards,
Philip

PS. He would never have me on his podcast.

Yes he will. All you have to do is ask.

I never said I agreed with him 100% on every issue. He is woefully wrong about his impression of Kenya and other things.

When I was younger, I was against the aspects of hunting Africa. Then I took the time to understand the model, how game replaced cattle, how the process supports conservation and supplies needed jobs.

Ignorance is a great enemy.

I live in Texas, my chances of ever getting a big game tag in the Western USA is about zero. It's cheaper for my daughter and I to go to Africa for a week of hunting than in NM/WY/MT is a no brainer. My daughter can't wait to go back to RSA and now wants to try stalking here in the US. What more could I hope for for her generation to push back against the anti-hunters?

I just saw Budsgunshop.com has both the guide gun and the African for $1150. FWIW - I bought both and decided to use the Guide gun - I restocked it in a Bell and Carlson stock and I added the Alaska arms floor plate to add a round. I wanted the shorter barrel as I will use a suppressor. I wont go lower than $1100, but I will ship it and no sales tax.

Let me know if you are interested
