Massive Gun Collection Sale - Health Issues - 1959 Winchester Model 70

So very sorry to hear of your difficulties with health. You are someone that has always helped fellow AH'ers out. So please keep posting things. I am sure there is something you will post that I can't live without.

I bought a gun from this seller last October and all went well. Buy with Confidence.

Having been the primary caregiver for both of my parents and having had to face some things in my own life in the last 2 months, I understand. I too will be watching.
Are you going to post them all on this thread or start a separate one? Well wishes and sale items together may make the items get "lost".... JMO

@Jager Waffen74 I’m always saddened to hear stories like this. However I also find it somewhat uplifting to see you wanting to get these firearms into the good hands of folks that will use them for their intent purpose. Good luck to you and so far it appears you have a beautiful collection.

You are in our prayers.

Paul

Tough to read this, don’t know you, but can empathize with the situation. I hope you find peace and new avenues for your passions. Will certainly keep an eye on this thread. Take care - DM

I will be watching this thread with great interest.

As a surgeon, Im curious, are you doing everything possible to repair/improve the damage? These days you have to be pretty forceful when it comes to finding the right people with the right skills to help. Many things are fixable. I wish you the very best. Car accidents can derail a perfectly normal life very quickly!

To All Friends and Fellow Enthusiasts,

I’m reaching out today, especially to those who know me personally, to share something difficult. Over the past couple of years, I’ve faced some serious health setbacks, and many include severe orthopedic in nature, that have significantly affected my mobility and overall quality of life.

As many of you know, I’ve always had a deep appreciation for fine firearms and optics, with a particular eye for quality, craftsmanship, and style. With a heavy heart, I’ve come to the point where I need to let go of most of my collection. This isn’t a decision I take lightly, but it’s become necessary given my current condition and facing permanent disabilities.

Before I take anything to auction, or gunbroker or gunsinternational, I wanted to offer them first to this community. I know many of you share the same passion and would value these pieces as much as I have over the years. I am trying to liquidate most everything by hunting season. I am selling stuff locally to friends and acquaintances as well, so there may be stuff spoken for as I listed below.

Among the collection are many shotguns, including classic examples from Merkel, Simson, JP Sauer, and beautifully made Ferlach drilling. There are also high-grade Browning Superposed guns including pigeon grades in .410, along with Berettas, Benelli’s, and many Remingtons—some of which are still unfired and in their original boxes. I also have Ithaca shotguns Flues Guns, Model 37’s and a particularly special Model 42 Winchester Deluxe Skeet Grade from 1941.

In addition to the shotguns, I have quite a number of fine rifles, including custom Model 70s, Mausers, Anschutz Rifles, JP Sauer, Blasers, Sakos, and Brownings, Rugers as well as a large selection of Remingtons including som Model 7600s.. Many of the custom rifles were built by members of the American Custom Gunmakers Guild and are truly one-of-a-kind pieces.

There’s more beyond that, including a range of high-quality optics. If anything mentioned sparks your interest, then keep an eye out on AH. I will try and answer any requests but it really is an overwhelming process, and I have to do my best to go down my lists in order. I’d much rather see these go to people who truly appreciate them than into the hands of anonymous buyers at auction. You may see these posted on Longrangehunting, and 2 other forums as well.

I will start listing guns every few days, as I list them here, if they don’t sell in few days then I will have to post them to gunbroker and or gunsinternational as I need to stay on track to sell everything. I can take electronic payments but PM first. I also take Postal MO, cashiers checks, and zelle. I will not take Personal Checks, I don't have the time to wait for them to clear.

Thank you all for your friendship, support, and shared enthusiasm over the years. It means more than I can put into words.

Warm regards,

Jager_Waffen

Beautiful rifle.

Sad you feel the need of having to sale your collection due to health problems.

Sad to hear this news, best wishes for a recovery that exceeds expectations. Very nice firearms, will be watching !

Sorry to hear of your health conditions, Sir. This community is an outstanding one and I am glad you chose to list your collection here, always good to know that things that were special to you go to someone who will continue to appreciate them. best of luck!

Sorry to read of your of what happened to you. Life can change in an instant. Best we enjoy each day as it comes and pursue our passions early and often. My prayers are with you and I hope that things improve.

Will be keeping an eye on your postings and kudos to you for taking the extra steps to try and sell them here to like-minded folks. All the best, sir.

I’m also sorry to hear of your misfortune.

IMHO this thread is already becoming too convoluted to sell that many rifles. Potential buyers will need to scroll through pages of condolences to find a rifle. Then the questions and answers will be mixed in with the condolences.

For the 3rd or next firearm up for sale you should start a clean, uncluttered new thread. Leave out the reasons for selling. And I’m thinking you will sell faster and much less headache.

Altitude Sickness’s thought is wise. Start a new, clean thread and it’ll be better for you.

That said, I’m saddened to read of your accident and circumstance. You sound like you were cruising along through life until this happened. I know what you’re going through, as my wife and I just returned from a 4 week trip to Dubai and Zimbabwe. She has been suffering from a long term illness and traveled against medical advice. She did great on our trip. After returning home she had a series of medical appointments and received very bad news in the end. I am so grateful we took the trip and focused on her living life to the fullest while she still can. I wish the same for you.

Live life as well as you can for as long as you can!

This is a good point. Like everyone, I am
Saddened to hear of your accident. I strongly encourage you to take the medical advice above and forcefully pursue all
Options.

Thank you
Sad to hear of your misfortune, really sorry, all of us over 70 have serious things to deal with in our headlites. as the best of life is in the rear view mirror. sounds like you took a real succor punch from the back.
About 6 months or so ago the PA told me I had diabetes and probably prostate cancel. I told her she was full of Shait, and walked out, have quit eating sweets and junk ,'miss the icecream" Dropped 19 lbs and work everyday around the ranch, Feel good, saw a VA Dr. for MRI and she told me my prostate was the size of a 25 year old and good, so the docs dont always get it right. however age is against us all.
What I would do is stop by and swap stories with you if you feel like company ,If you live in the south half of Idaho. I go up to the Stanley basin just over Galena pass often as well as Island park some.
the only thing of rifles I collect is levers, if you have any send me a private pm. KEEP SMILIN, and thank God for what youve had good in life.
I will also be up in Boise area to pick up a load of horses the 27th.

Time is the greatest thief.

I love your pre-'84 M70, but I shoot left handed. That rifle is easily worth 2X what he is asking for it. The Model 42 is a real beauty.

That wood on the Model 42 is just beautiful.
Is that from a special order, or an executives gun?
Bump to get someone to buy this!
