Yes, it would be helpful if we all use the proper names and terms when discussing firearms topics.
Magnaport is the name of a process and a product and not a general class of products. Red Leg showed a rifle barrel with a Magnaport. Thank you sir.
I could show three more as three of my rifles have been Magnaported. Do an Internet search on the word and it should soon become clear and further questions and worries should be much reduced. The process and product have been around for about 50 years and should not be new to experienced rifle shooters.
On my first Safari, I used my Ruger 77 .338 Win Mag which had been Magnaported and all went well. One shot, one kill on everything from Impala to Eland.
No burst ear drums, ear ringing, headaches, etc.
