Made in USA

You can still purchase made in the USA Levi's. However, they are not made by Levi Strauss & Co, but be prepared for sticker shock for a paid of blue jeans.

That's the big problem. Everyone wants to purchase merchandise that is made in their own country but don't want to pay the price of what is made there.

This is one of the reasons that most manufactures have gone overseas. They can still charge a high price while paying low labor wages for their products.

While I like and will purchase items that are made here in the US I also know that it is next to impossible to do so with everything that I do purchase.

If we could please focus on the OP's interest in purchasing a product of his choice from the source of his choice. It's done around the world. If you have some useful information please share it.
If you want to discuss politics you know where to head.
Thanks in advance.

I agree. I'm very pleased when I see "Made in North America" on an item and there's Old Glory and a Maple Leaf paired together on the tag. I'm equally interested in buying things made in the first world by our Allies. British Made. Australian / New Zealand Made. German Made. Etc.

If we don't hang together we will surely hang apart.

Ruger rifles
Remington shotguns
Hornady ammunition
Barnes ammunition
Winchester ammunition
Nosler ammunition
Swift ammunition
Buck knives

P.S: Remington & Federal ammunition are produced in the USA but the companies are Czech owned.

I just wanted to add Marlin Rifles to this since Ruger took them over and seems to have done a really great job getting the Marlin quality back up quite a bit since Remington had them and did a really poor QC on the Marlins under their stewardship.

Another really great Canadian company in my opinion is Nanuk cases. I have had fantastic experiences with them so far.

Good luck finding anything made in Australia.
Our govt totally fucked over our manufacturing industry.
RM. WILLIAMS made in Australia but only the rich can afford them. $200 for a pair of jeans, $299 for a shirt.
AKUBRA made in Australia
Blundstone boots used to be a proud Tasmanian company and brilliant boots, now made overseas
ALL our cars from overseas
Our fuel used to be processed in Australia from Australian oil. Now sent overseas and we buy it back at OPEC prices and get ripped off. If Australia got invaded and we diverted ALL our fuel to the military we wouldn't have enough to get them from the south to the north. They would run out half way.
Our manufacturing capabilities have gone down the shit shute big time.
We have employees crying out for workers but cant get them or people just don't want to work .

When I was younger we had a manufacturing industry to be proud of, most things were made in Australia but now NEXT TO NOTHING
We need to take a page out of uncle Donald's book and make AUSTRALIA GREAT AGAIN.
sorry about the hijack but sorry you can't buy much Australian made.
Bob

You used to be able to buy a marlin in 30-30,444 or 45-70 for a bit over $1,000 . Since ruger took them over you are looking at the mid $2,000.
No wonder they aren't selling well here.
Why would you buy a Marlin in Australia for $2,500 when you can get a Weatherby S2 or Vanguard for under a thousand dollars.

This is a common story @Bob Nelson 35Whelen, even the Brits and Americans are grumbling.

US Filson used to be USA, now it’s all third world.
UK Barbour used to be UK, now all but their 3 heritage line coats/jackets are third world.
Aigle and Le Chameau rubber Wellington boots used to be hand crafted in France, now only their top-top line are made by the Frogs.
Hardy of Alnwick reels used to be made in UK, now only their heritage line of Bougle, Perfect, and a few others are made there with the rest made in Korea. (I respect Korea but they have no business making fly reels)
Orvis USA used to make fishing flies domestically, now most are made in Kenya and Nigeria.

I could write a book on the whole first world going to sh1t, but I’ll just leave it at that.

P.S. - Yes, Akubra is a great Oz company.

Don’t get me started on the shit show that is the quality of Zebco fishing reels since they went to China!

Australia - Woodleigh, I mean even with the fire I’ve been able to get their bullets easier than I can Swift A Frames.

Ruger rifles

Courteney boots - I know their from Zimbabwe but they’ve been a game changer for me and should be a source of national pride for Zimbabwe.

Since you opened the door to thread drift with your Zebco comment, let me praise the Asian first world. USA Shimano reels are sorta mediocre, we’re a throw away society. USA retailed Calcutta Shimano reels are C-quality at best. However, the JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) stuff is the best ever made, anywhere. I own a full set of Japanese market Calcutta bait casters, left hand retrieve (because I’m a righty and everyone does it wrong!) from size 50, 150, 250, and 400. Never a finer reel made.

But that’s Japan and Shimano makes the best gears in the world. Proud to buy from a Western ally.

Part of that pricing issue is that they were off the market for awhile while Remington was parted out and sold, and then longer for manufacturing to be transferred to and spin up at Ruger. Also, this all happened during the pandemic and supply chain excuses for price increases.

We saw the same thing here. Prices for a lot of the models went up to $2,500.

Recently the prices have started to come back down on them again. I just saw one of the models that used to be seen frequently for $2,500 priced on sale for $1,099. So, hopefully their prices become reasonable again. Of course, that hasn't been the track record the last 6-8 years, but here's to hoping.

Not just Zebco, but Abu Garcia has cheaper quality under Pure Fishing ownership.

I’ve just been thinking about the products which are manufactured just within a two hour driving distance from me, here’s a few off the top of my head.
Knaphiede truck beds
Quincy compressor
Titan wheel (makes most of the wheels on farm machinery)
NTN bearings.
Doyle fertilizer beds
Anheuser Busch.

I have a Chapuis 450-400 double that looks brand new and shoots well, never been hunted from what I can tell. I am willing to part with it as I have a 375 H&H Sodia on it's way from Dorleac & Dorleac. I am looking for $9,250 for it and if you are interested, I am happy to send you some pictures. Regards,
Steve
