Hey I bought my nightforce in my avatar photo from you guys!Welcome to AH! Nice to have you as part of our community.
It was amazing! Words will not do it justice! First animal on my first trip to knock the dust off and break the ice. I prepped for two years prior to going to make sure everything I had control of was seamless. The ph was truly great and we became friends and speak often. We drove around beautiful country side glassing and hanging out. We had a bunch of failed stalks because of the darn wind that was forever changing. We stayed with it and I was able to take a beautiful impala at roughly a 100 yards. Words can’t describe the experience while I was there, I felt like I was ten years old hunting deer for the first time. I haven’t felt like that in awhile. For the .300wm I had hand loaded some 180gr Barnes for the trip that also worked fantastic on a blesbuck at 256 yards. Since it was my first trip over the pond we targeted the plains game and it was a ball. What was supposed to be a trip of a lifetime turned into “how quick can I come back?!?!?” My next two trips are already planned. To say I’m hooked is an under statement! It’s been a year since the trip but I long to return on a daily basis.Welcome to the posting side.
Share the tale of that Impala hunt!!

i use ridge runner as a handle for everything! When I was a young boy my grandfather retired and bought a motorhome. One summer we went on a road trip up the north east and into Canada for the summer. He showed me all his old stomping grounds and the trip was long and memorable. Being from cream ridge, our cb radio handle was “ridge runner.” I kind of just use the name for everything now.@Ridge Runner
I don't suppose he is a brother from another mother or some such distant relation.
Same names, just saying but as usual I'm probably wrong, again.
