Looks like Australian is turning to crap with reloading supplies

I am for sh*t when it comes to reading the tea leaves, but before the last election cycle (when the stores still had inventory), if I wanted 1000 large rifle primers...I bought 2000. If I needed a few pounds of various powders...I was sure I bought double. Did it hurt the wallet? YOU BET IT DID! But every time I walk in the reloading room and see that pile of components...it looks like a blonde, 22 year old, knock out, Norwegian girl to me. My heart flutters, signs of arousal appear, and my IQ drops a good fifty points. I still almost wish I would have bought more at the time however.

Bob, a couple of months back Brownells cancelled my backorder which was either one and a half or two years old for a case (5000) of Federal Large Rifle Magnum Primers. They said they were no longer selling primers in that quantity. BTW they didn't offer to keep my backorder open for a lesser quantity. Since then, I've been able to scrounge a couple of thousand CCI and Remington LRM primers but will only use them for practice. I seriously doubt the point of impact will stay the same.

@Shootist43
Art I have found that primers don't overly affect accuracy. I've tried 3 or 4 different brand if primers in my 25 and 222 and could detect no discernible differences.
To top off the reloading shortage watching the news this morning our fuel prices are due to hit $3/liter in a few weeks. They say this is due to the war in Ukraine.
I say BULLSHIT. Australia produces a heap of oil and gas but they closed down our refineries. It is now processed overseas.
It's about time we started doing it ourselves again.
Bob.

Any excuse to screw us the oil companies are fxxxxing arse holes

22 cents today in my hometown. And that was after a 10 cent jump over the previous 3 days.

And an independent service station locally is doing 99c a litre on Diesel today.

There is some price war going on but they say the lineup is long.
Not sure why because they must be losing money at that and will be out for the weekend.
Pictures are on Facebook , it must be true.

If all the "free and moral people" of the world don't force a change of course soon , the way of life we have all known and the freedoms associated with it will be gone forever.

Agree 100% the free & normal people seem to be in the minority, the left wing education system has created a generation of off with the fairies fools, its all a plan by the left!

I think the thread is going to go to shit too.
These type of threads always go political or Pear shaped.

Yes its easy to loose the plot! I believe i just got the last 2 boxes of 250 grain Hornady 9.3 projectiles in Australia yesterday:)
@ rdog
Try and get 22cal 40gn VMax in bulk or even a 100 box.
I bought the last 2 boxes of Sierra 45gn sp Hornet bullets. Don't try and get ELDX any caliber. You will have more chance of finding a politician that tell you the truth.
Hopefully you have enough primers. My local is out completely and another is down to 1,000 BR primers at $24/100.
A shop in Bathurst is limiting primers to 500 max per customer to make them last.
Unleaded fuel has just hit over $2 per litre as well.

Just don't try and tell me shit happens.
It doesn't.
Arseholes cause it.

Talking recently to some friends who are still in the system. It appears I was wrong about ADI making their own primers. The facility which used to make primers was closed down some years ago and since then they have imported all the primers for their military and commercial ammo.

My God, what a fools paradise we've become. The entire defence capability hinging on overseas producers and unreliable supply lines.

Good God we are being lead on a path of self destruction, we properly could buy some from china.

Let's hope their supply chain is secure and supplied.
We think having 5000 on hand is a big number.
I will bet there supply is much more than we might even attempt to guess.
Problem is it would be commercially packaged so that may explain why they don't act as a distributor for primers.
