Figured it is time to update, Nyx has been doing well. She has a harder time with me missing the birds than me. She is definitely a fighter, when she was about 3 months old she got some type of infection. That required an emergency vet visit. Took her to work with me for a couple months. To give her all the meds she needed. About the time she was six months old she contacted parvo, she fought through that. About 3 weeks ago she got bit by some type of snake. Her toe swollen to about 3X it's normal size. The skin in the bite area rotted away, it is almost completely healed now.

She was a little distracted by the rabbit and rats in the field. She wanted to hunt, no mistaking her drive. She retrieved well today, we have more work (her and I both). Did have a good moment, for my first time ever I killed 3 birds with one shot.

I know you already named her but I'll share how my black lab was named. I was 13 when I got him. A coupled nights after getting him, Beverly Hills Cop was on TV. My mom asked, " how about Axel? He's black and he's black!" Deal done.

He also got parvo at 6 months. My mom worked at a veterinary clinic and accidentally brought it home even though she was being careful. Nasty stuff.

We have a ton of GS&WP's in my area. I'm not sure I've ever seen an all black one. Very pretty.

They are not very common from my understanding. They breeder that we got our male GSP has only had 5 in 33 years. Have read and seen pictures of a few. An AH member has a black GSP. They are rare not unheard of, I'm sure breeders do not breed them. I could not show my GSP because of his color. So black and white is not as popular stateside.

I liked the Movie, the 1st one was the best.
