Looking For Left Hand

Message @rookhawk I believe he has used the 220 platform. He is at least from Illinois like me I am.( slug only state) so probably has experience with good slug guns.

the savage 220 is the most accurate out of the box slug gun today. If you can get a lefty model, do it.

Custom Boyd’s stock glass bedded
Rifle basix trigger
Larger bolt knob
Picatinney mount
Warne QD rings
Kenton custom turrets ballistic calculated
Zeiss conquest scope
Tarhunt custom barrel with integrated muzzle brake is another $500

you shoot them with remington 3” accutip slugs.

you’re looking at about $2000 all-in. It’s a legit, ethical, repeatable 250-275 yard deer and Hog gun.

Look at blaser. I think you can get a blaser professional then easily swap the action from left to right.

I've been looking at the offerings from Montana Rifle Company for my buffalo rifle.

Other than that, I spent a lot of time on GunBroker looking for rifles and eventually found the Tikka .338 Win. Mag. that I took to Africa for my plains game hunt. They are out there, but it takes some work to find them.

Current manufacture:

Savage 110 in several calibers. I own a Stainless version in 7mm-08 that works great. Boyds makes a nice upgrade stock for them.

Ruger has the M77 in 375 Ruger in both African and Guide model, a couple choices of calibers in Hawkeye Hunter and some in the American rifle. I own an African model in 375 Ruger, never had an issue.

Thompson/Center Encore with a keyhole stock is one of my favorites and went to Namibia twice.

Sako M85

Tikka T3

Remington M700

Past manufacture:

Tikka T3 used to come in a wide selection of calibers

Weatherby, mostly in 300 Weatherby Magnum from my research.

Ruger M77 in various calibers.

Also on proxibid:

2 Ruger M77s in 300 mag
Sauer 202 in 300 mag
Browning A-Bolt in 270 WSM
Remington 700 caliber not listed
Win M70 Stainless Classic caliber not listed

It seems like the list of lefty options is shrinking again. only base model for most of the companies that offer it now and in limited calibers, plus you always pay more than right handed. If you go the custom route you will be paying as much as $700 more right off the bat just for being left handed, very frustrating. That being said, curious what peoples thoughts are with ER Shaw rifles? Free to pick your caliber out of about 50 offered and price is the same, right or left handed. Best part is you get a mid custom rifle for around $1000-1150.

Rather than hijack this thread I'll start another for general thoughts on ER Shaw rifles...

I have a Montana Rifle Company in 458 Lott left hand love it . I have a 375 weatherby and 340 weatherby both custom Remington sister rifles same builder . I have some right hand rifle to get rid of to get more lefties.

MRC was not getting back to my dealer about a LH .375 H&H and i got lucky and found a LH sako 375 used on gunbroker back in december. Ive only been looking for a LH .375 H&H for approx 9 years. I saw a few others over the years, but they either werent exactly what I was looking for, or were overpriced (IMO), or were bad timing for me.

I am looking into the .375 Ruger for this reason as opposed to a .375 H&H. It's hard for us lefties. I just ordered a Savage 111 Trophy Hunter XP in .25-06 as a pronghorn rifle. It's not a beautiful gun, but it's LH and the price was right.

Hello. I see you hunted with Sampie recently. If you don't mind me asking, where did you hunt with him? Zim or SA? And was it with a bow? What did you hunt?

I am possibly going to book with him soon.
