Looking for Iowa deer Outfitter

The iowa draw is open.
Yall spend the 60$ and get a preference point!
Iowa is the best whitetail hunting around.

Currently 1 or 2 points for a gun tag
Currently 5 or 6 points for an archery tag in the best zones.

I got 6 points but have to wait to do iowa. Got to much other hunts going on.
Heck I might burn em on iowa public in a few years.

7 years of preference points and a 660$ deer tag to go to Public Ground in Iowa?! I have seen poor results with that in general - especially if the goal of the hunt is a chance at a trophy whitetail.

No doubt there are some giants taken on public land each year but it is not easy, and many of the costs still apply.

we are mid to high on cost www.iowatrophyhunts.net but there may be some other good outfits that are lower in cost (if that is a concern) that are still good and will have you in some good spots and handle the lodging and food ect. I don't know your preferences or budget or situation - i am just sharing what i know.

I get it but I made a promise to myself with hunt costs. I am not paying over $1 k for a turkey and never over $5 k for a deer. I can just go to Africa for $5k or more let alone $9 k for a whitetail. My hunt in Namibia last year was under $9 k. I’m doing a mule deer and elk hunt next few years. Both of those are under $9 k but prices going up for sure.

understood - so if your main parameters are the cost of an iowa deer hunt being under 5k then public ground is the option for you.
You will have 1k in the iowa deer tag alone by the time you get it, so that will leave some for travel, hotel, food and equipment.
As i said it can certainly be done but its not effective if a hunter wants a reliable chance at what Iowa can offer in trophy quality.

its really hard to compare a safari to other safaris - much less any safari to any deer hunt. Since this is a deer hunting in Iowa Thread i dont see the need
