Hunted
plains game and dangerous game
I am looking to find some hotel and restaurant recommendations in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe. I am looking to spend two days one night before a dangerous game hunt in Vic Falls. All suggestions of things to do are also appreciated.

I am hoping to have 24-36 hours of R and R before heading off to hunt Ele's down in Hwange communal lands.

Just beware of Up Travel…they advertise incredibly low rates take your payment then the hotel does not recognize your reservation. I was lucky to catch them and got my money back (Victoria Falls Hotel)

If I get my leopard, I will be staying two nights at the Victoria Hotel doing the following:
1. Touring the falls both by helicopter and on foot.
2. Taking high tea at the hotel on the veranda.
3. Shopping with a recommended verified guide from the hotel to the craft markets

Who are you hunting with? I fly into Vic Falls this Sunday for a management elephant hunt with Nhoro Safaris, did that with them back in 2019 as well. As to places to stay, I do not know, I stayed 3 times at the Kingdom Hotel/Resort but they closed a year or two ago. If you are in Vic Falls town itself, 3 Monkey's was pretty decent. I will always recommend visiting the Victoria Hotel, I enjoyed lunch on the patio last time, it was a beautiful view!

Perhaps you have already been to Vic Falls, if not, make sure you take your passport when you go to the falls, you cannot get in without it. Also, when you go to the Victoria Hotel, be sure to walk around the entire first floor, there is some pretty sweet artwork to be seen.

Take room at any place, but you must have dinner at Victoria Falls Hotel.

My wife and I will be staying there five nights in May. I’ll be spending 4 days with several local NGO’s that Mzuri Wildlife Foundation has been funding, seeing how they’re using Mzuri’s funding. She loves iconic hotels, so it’s a no-brainer to stay at The Victoria Falls Hotel. After spending time with four different NGO’s, heading to Hammond to hunt buffalo.

If you are into history and the age of elegance then a formal dinner at the Victoria Falls Hotel is a must. You will need to dress, preferably a dinner jacket and black tie. As to where to stay, the same hotel is excellent. If you prefer something a little less formal the Ilala lodge is in the theme of the great explorers, Livingstone, Stanley, Selous. The food is very good.
If you are after an Africa safari vibe, no nostalgia though, then the Safari Lodge is it. It is a little out of town, but a shuttle runs regularly. The Boma Restaurant is nearby for ethnic cuisine.

Brainer for me last year was the price, so I stayed at more economic resort (plenty of those in Vic Falls area) and we went for dinner there.
During dinner, they had a live dance show. This is a screenshot of my mobile phone video. Local group dance. Almost all night during dinner.
My host said, in last few years they removed the best trophies from the Vic Falls hotel lobby walls , in order not to offend certain type of modern visitors and guests of higher moral standard.
But some of old trophies are still there.

Me and my wife stayed at Mbano Mannor for 3 days last year. It was really nice and they had a shuttle to run you anywhere you wanted to go in Vic Falls. We enjoyed our time there quite a bit.

To me…it’s Vic Falls Hotel all the way. Stayed there last year finally and wouldn’t have it any other way. Dinner there on the deck or at the buffet with the show as shown just above…afternoon tea on the deck…
It’s a must. You can’t compare the history and experience. The ONLY reason not to do so is you have to save a couple hundred bucks on a trip that was already thousands of dollars

THE BOMA DINNER SHOW IS KIND OF NEAT, LOKUTHULA IS CLOSE TO IT AND THEY DO SHUTTLES INTO TOWN. OR ONE OF THE SUNSET DINNER CRUISES WOULD GET YOU OUT ON THE RIVER. WIFE AND I CAN ALWAYS KILL THE BETTER PART OF A DAY AT THE CRAFT MARKET, JUST BE CAREFUL A FEW WOOD AND STONE CARVINGS CAN GET YOU OVERWEIGHT IN A FLASH.

I am a history teacher who specializes in modern African history so yes i think this is the best option for me.
